The Camaro is an American icon that has been treasured for decades
and generations. With restomods in rising demand and popularity, an
American classic like this is a natural choice for an epic custom
ride. Building a restomod is a losing battle on paper, as the
amount of money it takes to turn a classic car into something that
will be the envy of any enthusiast is staggering and usually cannot
be recovered. Fortunately, this 1970 Camaro is unique because a
large bulk of the money has already been spent! With over $67,000
(sixty seven THOUSAND) already spent on high-dollar aftermarket
parts, this Camaro is a metal fabricator's dream come true. With
some metal working and final assembly required, this car could be a
show stopper. If you're an automotive visionary, you can already
see the potential!
With a stack of receipts and an itemized list of all the top-shelf,
name brand parts that come with this car, it is clear that this is
a serious project in the making. With brands such as Pypes, Detroit
Speed, Vintage Air, Forgeline, and Wilwood making an appearance,
this is not a home-made project that was being built of used parts
being scraped together in someone's garage. There was a concerted
effort made to turn this Camaro into a premium restomod, with all
the amenities one could want. The itemized parts list shows both
the brand and cost of these parts, and it is no wonder building
something like this eats up so much cash so quickly!
The exterior sheet metal has been installed and prepped to an
extent, but does need a variety of finishing touches to be ready
for paint. Some custom work was started here and there, but not all
of it was finished. Fortunately, it is still in a stage where an
enthusiast, visionary, or skilled metal worker can manipulate it
into their own design. Sitting on a new set of BF Goodrich tires
and Forgeline wheels, this car already has the stance of a champion
thanks to those items and a variety of top-notch Detroit Speed
underpinnings.
Under the hood is a GM LS3 480HP 6.2L V8 with a Holley Sniper EFI
kit and A/C attached via a VIPS billet front runner kit. Look
closely, and you'll see the rack and pinion steering. Wilwood disc
brakes are in place at all four corners of this car, giving both a
high-quality appearance and top-shelf stopping. No expense has been
spared!
The interior has newer cloth GM bucket seats, with a custom gauge
cluster and high-dollar Billet Specialties steering wheel. While
much of the interior has yet to be completed, for a builder this is
ideal. There is still plenty of room to add any custom touches one
may desire, and to change things accordingly without having to
uproot previous work.
To many enthusiasts, this car may speak for itself in regards to
the workmanship and potential. For others, it may not, but the
receipts sure do! Don't miss out on your chance to get in on a
top-quality restomod project for a bargain price, and be sure to
check out our photos for the itemized list of parts.
