Vehicle Description
This 1964 Buick Riviera Super Wildcat is the kind of coupe that
instantly makes you fall in love with classic American motoring.
It's a cool-looking luxury hardtop with all the right
period-correct appearance. And under the hood is a huge V8 with
dual four-barrel carbs on top. And this full classic package is
looking just as the factory made it!
This Riviera lives up to its upper-class European namesake. Crisp
lines, outstretched fenders, and a hint of a sporty kick-up in the
rear fender made a terrific first impression. It wasn't as
chrome-heavy as other cars from the '60s, but that didn't mean it
missed out on brightwork. It uses shine in a sophisticated way with
pieces like the turn signal grilles, quarter panel horseshoe trim,
and wire wheel covers with distinct "R" badging. Plus, the chrome
bumpers hug the car's unique form. And for a car named after a
coastal resort destination, it's great to have it presented in the
factory-correct and appropriately named Surf Green. It was given a
respray later in life to ensure there is a nice gloss on this
nautical hue.
Inside, the sea of green continues, and so does the original flair.
Everyone gets the comfort of bucket seats in this Riviera, even the
rear ones! The unique cloth with button-top presentation is a
preserved original presentation that really still shows a premium
look today. The artful dual-spoke steering wheel, big/bright
gauges, and nicely integrated center console remind you remind you
that these were built to be luxury cruisers. And that feeling
continues on vintage items like the glovebox trunk release,
wood-like trim, cruise control, and the factory AM/FM radio with
the hallmark B-U-I-C-K memory buttons. Plus, power windows mean you
get to show off the cool pillarless hardtop profile without ever
leaving the driver's seat.
While this has great originality inside and out, what you're really
going to want to show off is under the hood. This is the
numbers-matching 425 cubic-inch Super Wildcat V8. The bright air
topper, ribbed Buick valve covers, and bright block paint makes
this both vintage and attractive. But what people will really
marvel at is how this came from the factory with dual four-barrel
carburetors (making it one of only 2122!) A special motor like this
has been well-maintained, including a newer brake master cylinder,
battery, and water pump. It makes for serious power, but this also
never loses its easy-driving nature. That's why you also have a
three-speed automatic transmission, power steering, and power
brakes.
This is a special coupe, and so it even comes with a copy of the
original purchase receipt. Who knew this much vintage luxury and
distinction could be so affordable? Call today!!!
