Vehicle Description
Originally introduced as competition to Ford's Falcon, the Chevy II
Nova was an instant hit. As design changes were made and the
overall style of the car changed with consumer preferences, "Chevy
II" was dropped and these handy little commuters simply became
"Nova." The Nova really hit its stride at the transition between
the second and third generations. The third generation Novas, like
this red 1972 Chevrolet Nova, had a more aggressive stance and the
performance models really embraced the booming muscle car culture
of the late 1960s/early 1970s.
This little red Nova is a prime example of a classic compact muscle
car! Fully restored top to bottom, with the photographs to prove
it, this car was finished in the classic and ever-popular color
combination of red on black. It isn't lowered, it doesn't have a
supercharger, and it won't pull the front wheels off of the
ground...but it doesn't need to. This is a car that oozes "muscle"
from every angle, and truly embodies what GM was doing during this
time period. The paint is slick, and the black vinyl top really
looks sharp. There's no doubt that this is a lot of car for the
money! Sitting at factory ride height on Nova SS wheels, this car
really has it goin' on for that classic factory muscle look. While
it didn't leave the factory as an SS, it sports the badging and has
the power to back up the look!
The interior is just as nice as the exterior. With the bench seats
refinished in premium black vinyl and a Hurst T-Handle shifter in
place, this Nova is truly a throwback to the 1970s. Whether you
were in high school, married with kids, or not even born yet,
sitting in this car is bound to bring to life a fantasy of red
light races and Ted Nugent blaring through the speakers. The Sunpro
column-mounted tach and Nova embroidered carpet floor mats are nice
touches that complete the look. This whole car has been done up
very nicely, both inside and out.
Under the hood is a 454 V8-perhaps our favorite feature of this hot
ride. Nothing says "wild Saturday night" like a big engine in a
little car! With that 454 hooked up to a 4-speed manual
transmission, this car is set up for a good time. This is a
naturally aspirated car with plenty of unbridled power-no forced
induction necessary for a fun night cruising. It sounds amazing and
runs like it forgot to turn off the oven before leaving the house.
Power brakes all the way around and disc brakes on the front ensure
that this car can stop both safely and quickly.
If you're looking for a powerful, fun weekend cruiser then this is
it! You can take it to any show, cruise-in, or charity event and
have a blast. This is a turn-key Nova, ready to hit the streets
tonight. Grab your fuzzy dice and footprint gas pedal; the '70s are
here!
