This car was one of the last Model T’s built. It has been kept in its original configuration (not modified to be a hot rod) to keep it close to the original driving experience. Some minor enhancements have been done to make it more road-safe and to increase power for hilly terrain.
It was restored in the 1980’s and was used to show in parades. The engine and transmission were rebuilt in 2015 and several enhancements were made to provide a little more power and make it safer on city streets. Rocky Mountain brakes were replaced with hydraulic brakes.
If you have not driven a Model T before, you should get instructions from someone who is familiar with this unique car, and practice in a safe area. Shifting the transmission is done with the feet, and it takes a little getting used to. The throttle and spark advance are on the steering column. I highly recommend joining a local Model T club for organized tours and mutual support.
The Model T does require some hands-on maintenance. Fortunately, there are several companies around the country that can supply every imaginable part needed for maintenance and embellishment of Model T’s. If you’re not sure how to do some particular task, you can find a YouTube how-to video on nearly everything.
Once you are comfortable driving the car, you will enjoy driving it around local streets and turning heads. Expect a lot of folks smiling and waving at you.
