Vehicle Description
With under 30,000 miles on its odometer - how often do you see such
light usage on a 15-year old car? - and its original warranty card
sitting in its glove box, this 2004 Chevrolet Corvette has reaped
the benefits of being well-cared for and conscientiously sheltered.
It's looking and running strong and would be a great score for any
fan of exhilarating motoring behind the wheel of a true American
classic.
Dressed in an understatedly sharp Graphite Gray, this 'Vette will
grab your attention right away. It's really a cool looking shade
and it complements the conformation of this low-slung performer
nicely. Having obviously spent most of its downtime indoors, the
exterior is in uniformly clean condition, with no unevenness or
blemishes of note. Fifth generation Corvettes like this one
represented some significant improvements over their predecessors
in terms of aerodynamics and weight distribution, and you can see
from its curvature, sharply angled windshield and pronounced but
stylish incline as it rises from front to back just how
effortlessly this classic will cut through the wind. Up front, the
flip up headlights raise into position with no issue and sit nice
and flush when lowered. The Targa Top configuration offers the
exhilaration of driving with just the blue sky above you with the
security of easily installed shelter when the weather won't
cooperate.
The black leather interior has come through the years in fine shape
- at close range, you'll also likely appreciate the quality of the
leather. The contoured high-backed buckets have retained their form
well and show no tears or stitching separation and they offer a
good balance of comfort for everyday driving and support for
inspired corner-carving. Chevy has always put an emphasis on
equipping its prized model with inspired, driver-centric cockpits
and this one is no exception. The black dash area harbors an
extensive array of gauges in its instrument cluster that all
function as intended and illuminate the cabin in blue. All the
comfort features you'd want in a frequent driver are on hand,
including air conditioning that's blowing nice and cold, an
AM/FM/CD player, tilt steering, power windows and door locks,
remote door openers and much more. An anti-theft device is also on
board to help ensure this fine ride never leaves your possession
unintended. There's some welcome storage space in back, as well as
an included cargo cover to conceal your belongings.
Just as is the case with every other aspect of this Chevy, its
engine compartment is impressively clean and well-maintained. Every
surface you come across beneath the hood - from the gun metal gray
of the engine's branded valve covers to the induction system
sitting up front to feed the engine a supply of cold, dense air -
looks as if it's been scrubbed clean and is free of any grime
buildup. The drivetrain is in top form and ready to provide plenty
of fun filled miles ahead, with an electronically fuel injected 5.7
liter LS1 V8 joining forces with a 4-speed 4L60E automatic
transmission that shifts flawlessly. The engine left the factory
with 350 horsepower in tow and sounds great as it sings into its
dual exhaust - its light usage means the motor is just entering its
prime. Smooth power steering combines with power disc brakes at all
four corners to provide effortless navigation and dependable,
fade-resistant stops to the set of staggered Corvette 5-spoke
wheels - 17" in front and 18" in back.
