Here is a desirable 2003 Z06 Corvette with thousands of dollars in upgrades. 2003 is perhaps the most desirable year for the C5 Z06, representing the 50th anniversary of the Corvette. I don’t think there is a better looking car from this generation; the fixed roof coupe body, lower ride height, attractive wheels, and black factory paint really make a statement. But this example is takes things a step further with a 500hp engine, short throw shifter, suspension upgrades, and more. There is a lot of bang for the buck here.
This example is very clean throughout with 71k miles and a clean Autocheck report. The exterior really looks amazing. Not many cars look so nice after 15+ years, black or otherwise.. This one also has a few modifications including clear front lenses along with window tinting and a shorty antenna. Tires are Continental Extreme Contact and are in excellent condition.
The factory 5.7L LS6 engine is rated at 405hp, but this one has been reworked by New Era Performance of Rochester, NY. It was then dyno tuned to produce approximately 500hp at the engine (404.5 at the wheels, dyno sheet included). External modifications include an aftermarket intake with headers and a performance exhaust. The 6-speed transmission uses a short throw shifter, while the suspension also received some performance modifications. The overall result is a Z06 that is a thrill to drive with performance that can trounce cars well above this price range.
The black leather interior is as nice as you’ll find in any 2003. The factory seats look like new and have the special Z06 embroidery and comfortable dual-density side bolsters. The gauges have special Z06 badging with a 6500rpm tachometer redline. Everything works properly including the head-up display. There is also dual zone HVAC which is another standard item on the Z06. The air conditioning just received a full service which included a new compressor.
This is both a very capable Corvette and a great value. In addition to all of this, though, is the ability to use this car every day. It has plenty of storage space, doesn’t overheat, and can get 30 mpg on the highway. I’d say it checks all the boxes and then some.
