For Sale: 1968 Buick Riviera in LEWES, Delaware

Vehicle Description

By far one of the finest Buick Riviera's anywhere on the internet. The 51 year old classic truly looks like it just came off the showroom floor.

The car has a 430 c.i. engine rated at 360 H.P. with a turbo hydromatic transmission. Runs and rides excellent.

The options include: power steering, power brakes, A/C, factory Delco stereo, California mandated rear window defogger, speed indicator alarm, bucket seats with console and seat belts, power drivers seat, tilt steering wheel, power windows, hideaway headlights, special order paint (Mid Teal Blue Metallic), and vinyl roof.

Also supplied will be the original factory parts and service manuals, original Protecto plate and all awards won during competition. This classic Buick also has an announcement day VIN # which means that on the date that the 1968 Buick Riviera was first shown to the public, this Riviera was on the showroom floor.

This automobile does carry a Buick Riviera GS model badge, but is not a GS. I do not know when the GS badge was installed, but I do know the car does not have a posi-traction rear end that was standard equipment on all Riviera GS models. I was aware of this when I purchased the car.

I place this car conservatively at between a Hagerty rating of #3 good & #2 excellent. That would establish the value at approximately $22,400. The items that need attention: a/c does not work, left turn signal does not work, hidden headlights work, but do have a vacuum leak and steering wheel has several cracks.

The auto has 87,322 miles indicated which I believe is correct. I was told by the previous owner that when he bought the car (2003) that it had 79,000 miles and the engine and transmission had very recently been rebuild. He had no documentation to validate any of this.

I am pricing the car, with all of the above in consideration, at $18,000. I believe this is fair and I care enough about the car that I want it taken care of in the future. The only reason I am selling it is that I am 77 years young, but do have some health issues.
