Vehicle Description
This is a two-owner 911T that was with its most recent owner for
the past 44 years and has just under 117,000 original miles. After
thirty years with a mostly stock 911T in the garage, he decided to
upgrade this car. His goal was to meet or exceed the performance
and usability of a 1973 Porsche 911 Carrera RS. He began by
purchasing a 3.2L (type 930/25) engine from a 1988 911 that had
been wrecked with only 9,000 miles on the odometer. The new engine,
which makes 217 horsepower at 5,900 and 195 foot-pounds of torque
at 4,800 rpm, replaced the carbureted 911T engine and exceeded the
horsepower and torque of a '73 RS (210 at 6,300 rpm with 188
foot-pounds of torque at 5,100). Next, a stainless-steel exhaust
system was fitted, along with a lightened flywheel, short-throw
shifter, and 7:31 ring and pinion for much quicker acceleration.
With the mechanical goal exceeded, he purchased steel RS flares and
15x7 and 15x8 Fuchs wheels. He got rid of the stock interior, which
is both heavy and bulky, and bought lightweight seats that sit
lower to the floor, a smaller diameter Momo Prototipo steering
wheel, and replaced the armrests and door pockets in favor of
lightweight panels that allow much more elbow room. The end result
is a 911 that is very exciting to drive and one that accelerates
incredibly well without compromising any reliability.
Please note that a painted to match Ducktail is included in the
sale and can be installed upon request.
