Vehicle Description
1940 Ford Sedan
The 40 Ford has to have one of the greatest looking front ends ever
designed and this cool Sedan is no exception. These cars make the
perfect start for a Street Rod which is the style this one is done
in. The body is all steel and free of any rust issues. It is
painted in a Burgundy color and has very nicely laid down hot rod
flames running down the front end. They are kind of a ghost flame
style as they transition from a similar Burgundy color on the nose
to a progressively light color the further they go back. The
exterior has a nice clean look with the door handles and most of
the larger trim pieces being shaved off. It does still have the
chrome grill, chrome headlight bezels, front dual piece window
trim, taillight trim and rear bumper giving it just enough shiny
accents. The rear taillights have been upgraded to LEDs and has
that classic blue dot all old hotrodders and motorcycle enthusiasts
will recognize. Being a sedan gives the car a long sloping roofline
which gives it a great side profile. It also has the split rear
window setup which a long with the shaved deck lid gives it a cool
look when you are following it down the road. The car has a really
nice stance and the custom Centerline wheels suit it nicely.
Turning those wheels is the LT1 under the hood that provides that
nice touch of modern performance and reliability which is always
nice to have. There are a lot of 40 Fords out there that you
wouldn't really want to take on long cruises but with that modern
motor this one should handle it no problem. The engine compartment
has a show ready look with braided lines, a polished out radiator,
painted to match firewall and inner fenders. The transmission is a
700R4 which shifts smoothly and in back is a Ford 9 inch rear end.
Disc brakes have been added up front and the power brake booster
relocated to under the car to allow for additional room for the
motor. Other nice features include the power steering, Mustang II
style front end, great sounding dual exhaust, and stainless gas
tank.
The interior is completed in a very nice two tone light and dark
Grey upholstery. It has aftermarket high back bucket seats in front
and a bench in the rear. In between the front seats is a custom
built center console which houses the Lokar shifter, 2 cupholders
and a little extra storage space. The dash is painted to match the
body and wears the stock center trim piece. Above that is the
aftermarket AM/FM/Cassette player and below the underdash AC unit.
It also has two inset vents on each side of the dash. The gauges
have been changed out for Dakota Digital gauges in a custom brushed
aluminum style bezel. In front of the driver sits a painted to
match tilt steering column that is topped off with a custom
Burgundy leather wrapped steering wheel. The trunk is nicely
upholstered and carpeted as well. It offers plenty of storage space
and is where you will find the gas cap. There is also a hidden
panel which can be removed to gain access to the battery.
This cool 40 Ford is a nicely built car that looks great and is set
up to be a great driver.
