Vehicle Description
The legendary Impala is one of those timeless designs that looks
good no matter how it's built. Stock... resto-modded... coupe...
convertible... Whatever... The clean lines and balanced stance on
these cherished classics create an all-American swagger that's
universally admired. That means, if you're looking to ride in
style, you really can't go wrong with a full-size Chevy. And when
you factor in this drop-top's tri-power drivetrain, tasteful
restoration and ornate, retro chic aesthetics, you get the
picturesque profile of an incredible collector car!
AN EVEN BETTER BEL AIR
Restored, resilient and ready to roll, this top-of-the-line
drop-top displays immaculate bodywork that simply glistens. The
car's super straight profile is layered in correct Onyx Black
2-stage that's been buffed to a spectacular shine. And, in typical
'50s fashion, that pigment is fully detailed in literal feet of
polished trim. At the front of this sleek showboat, a broad
stainless grille frames jet-inspired parking lamps between a
prominent bumper, an ornate Chevrolet crest and hooded T3
headlights. At the top of that grille, subtle fender toppers lead
the eye to an optional EZ-Eye greenhouse, which is sealed in
straight frames, cleared by bright wipers and capped in
power-operated vinyl. At the sides of that hood, rocket-inspired
speed spears cage bold Impala emblems amid contrasting louvers and
textured rocker guards. Opposite those spears, correct door handles
and classy mirrors perfectly complement optional nail guards and
angled antennas. And at the back of the car, a second prominent
bumper centers a crisp Continental Kit between six familiar
taillights.
TRI-POWER TURBO THRUST
Lift the car's massive hood and you'll find 348 cubic inches of
1958 big block that follows Rochester tri-power induction with a
correct 3751872 casting number. Torque meets the pavement through a
smooth Powerglide 2-speed, which spins a factory rear end that's
finished with mild, 3.31 gears. The car's rebuilt suspension is
greatly enhanced by factory power steering and power drum brakes.
Exhaust flows from cast iron manifolds to aluminized pipes and
throaty turbo mufflers. And all that fully sorted hardware rides
painted steel wheels, which spin 215/75R14 Coker Classic whitewalls
around stylish spinner hub caps.
THE PLACE TO BE
Decked in brilliant detail, this Chevy's correct interior has been
restored to factory-fresh condition in virtually every way. Cloth
and vinyl seats feel newer than the car's 61 years would suggest,
featuring easy power adjustment for both front passengers. In front
of those thrones, a sculpted dash, dressed in the usual combination
of telemetry and trim, founds controls for factory air conditioning
beneath a Guide traffic light viewer and familiar Wonder Bar audio.
The driver spins an elegant Impala steering wheel. And a quartet of
power windows meets a power-operated top.
Fully restored and professionally sorted, this line-topping Chevy
is a first rate classic that's ready for years of shows and miles
of cruising. With a rare motor, a lust-worthy profile and super
cool swagger, it's the kind of car that can be enjoyed for
generations. If you're in the market for some awesome Americana
that'll own the street AND the show, this first-year Impala is your
hot ticket!
