For Sale: 1962 Cadillac Series 62 in Lebanon, Missouri

Vehicle Description

TAKE A TRIP BACK TO THE DAYS OF CAMELOT IN THIS FANTASTIC SURVIVOR!

By the start of the 1960’s, the Cadillac division of General Motors was firmly established as one of America’s top luxury vehicle manufacturers.  The over-the-top styling cues of the latter part of the previous decade had passed from the new car showrooms of the day, replaced by designs that were much more refined and exuded a sense of simplistic elegance.

In keeping with their history, Cadillac continued to be at the forefront in terms of style and luxury.  The Series 62 in 1962 was offered in a variety of body styles with two and four doors, including a two-door convertible.  Among the new amenities was an available fully automatic heating and air conditioning system.  Mechanical improvements included offering a three-speed turbo hydramatic transmission for the first time, which would remain one of the standards of the entire GM line for many years.  From a safety perspective the first two reservoir brake master cylinder was offered, a full six years before they were mandated by the federal government.

This 1962 Cadillac Series 62 convertible, built the second week of July 1962, is a fine example of unrestored elegance.  Finished in Maize (paint code 45) with a white top and light two-tone leather interior which seats five comfortably, the front bucket seats show the slight wear one would expect from this vintage of vehicle.  All other interior appointments show similar wear but are very presentable.  Power comes from a powerful 390 cubic inch engine mated to the new-style three speed automatic transmission.  Additional options include power steering, power brakes, power windows and power seat, all items one would expect to find in an early 60’s Caddy!  At the other end of the vehicle, a cavernous trunk provides a wealth of space for storage.  This vehicle has been in the portfolio of a major midwestern collector for almost 30 years and stored in a humidity-controlled environment after being acquired from the original owner.  While not a perfect car cosmetically, it is a very presentable driver and would make a fantastic parade car or tour vehicle.  Very recent maintenance has been performed on the brakes and fuel system.

Offered at $35,000 USD, this 1962 Cadillac Series 62 convertible is truly a trip back to the days of Camelot and the early 1960’s.  Shipping can be arranged at the buyer’s expense.  For additional information contact sales manager Steve Russell at 417-532-8000.

NOTICE

Because of the number of vehicles we represent we cannot drive every vehicle for long distances.  These vehicles have been part of static displays for long periods of time, in some cases for decades, and are subject to the flaws and imperfections consistent with that.  While we do our best to disclose all issues we known about a vehicle in our advertising, these are old cars and something that has always worked in the past might not function properly today.  Please check the requirements of your state regarding the licensing and registration of classic vehicles and make sure the vehicle you are looking at meets those if applicable.  Unless otherwise noted, all vehicles represented by Evergreen Digital Showroom possess a clean (non-branded) title which will be provided the new buyer when purchase funds clear our financial institution.  Virtually all of our vehicles are sold as mileage exempt due to their age.  We do not warranty any vehicle, nor any part of the vehicle including air conditioning systems, brake systems, electrical systems and gauges, fuel systems, accessories or powertrain components.

These are old vehicles and it is very common for them to require certain maintenance and upkeep for them to be operational.  In many cases issues with leaks may develop when being driven after a long period of not being used.  This is common, as classic cars at some point will leak fluids.  For this reason, we do not encourage buyers to attempt driving their purchase home as we cannot guarantee functional reliability of these vehicles.  We strongly encourage prospective buyers to be sure they are comfortable with these issues before purchasing a classic car.

Descriptions of vehicles represented by Evergreen Digital Showroom are intended to be informational in nature and do not in any way constitute any sort of warranty, expressed or implied.   Again, these vehicles are presented “as-is, where-is” without guarantee or warranty.  Vehicles manufactured prior to 1981 will likely not be included in the databases of companies such as CarFax and AutoCheck that provide vehicle history information to consumers.   If you have specific questions regarding a vehicle we urge you to contact us at 417-532-8000.
