1941 Cadillac Fleetwood 60 Special in Kensington, Connecticut

Vehicle Description

1941 Cadillac Fleetwood 60 Special

Original paint, original engine. Current owner has owned her for about 4 years. He purchased from an older chap in Berlin CT where the car had been "sitting for years". Having seen the car in the same spot for what was said to be "well over 20-30 years", the current owner stopped by and offered to buy the car as he couldn't stand to see her wasting away.

The first order of business was to have the 346ci L-head V8 rebuilt. He then proceeded to get her driving, flushing the tank, and getting the brakes in order. The 2 spd Hydra-Matic auto transmission (the first automatic transmission to be offered in a production automobile) was shifting fine and needed nothing more than some new fluid as did the rear diff.

This ole girl runs and drives and does so very well and will maintain "highway" speeds of 55-60 mph. The original Firestone Black tires are on the car (they may not be THE original tires but they're the same style that came on the car when order new.

The odometer shows 19,531 miles but that is more likely 119,500 miles.

The frame and floors are very solid with just a couple of small holes on the driver floor. The inner fender closing panels are pretty well rusted and there are a couple of other rust through holes present in outer body panels.

But... she runs and drives!!

Fairly well optioned for the time this Fleetwood 60 Special (less than 4000 made in 1941) this beauty came equipped with adjustable sun visors; Wheel shields (skirts); 2 speed Hydra-Matic automatic transmission; Firestone black tires; No running boards; Heated seats; Day/Night mirror; cigar lighter; Ventilated heat/defroster; Radio with vacuum operated aerial; No ROL hand brake. The data tag decodes as such:

41-6019S  -  1941 Fleetwood 60 Special

Paint code 54 - Gunmetal Gray Metallic w/Vincennes Red wheels; Trim Code 1324 - Maroon and tan cloth interior that came with straight grain Walnut wood trim.

The owner has several boxes of extra parts, trim, emblems, etc and includes the original hub caps and and another radio.

This car is ready to be restored to her former glory and can be done easily as she's has some great bones.. or.. as she already runs and drives rather well, simply clean her up a bit and enjoy the looks and comments as you tool along in this well patina'd "rat rod".

Asking price on this piece of American Luxury history is $8200

Any questions, for MANY more photos, to schedule a time to see her in person or to make and offer, please don't hesitate to contact me.

Thank you for the interest.
