Same owner the last 18 years. #s match motor and trans. He did an
extensive mechanical restoration less then 2,500 miles ago.
EXTERIOR: Professionally painted by high end shop- Brent Jarvis'
Performance Restorations. He does them right, he does them to last.
It is laser straight, panels fit right. No dents, bubbles or any
issues with the body. The paint looks like liquid red. It is
literally like looking into a red mirror. Stripes are painted to
correct dimensions. Upfront the grills, bumper, emblems and all the
chrome trim look new. It has a genuine Ram Air metal hood with
fiberglass scoops. No stress cracks, hood pins are new. The new
emblems are properly spaced. Has the correct sport mirrors for 1970
only and a spoiler on the trunk. The back bumper is rechromed and
is notched for the trumpet exhaust tips. Has SS-1 wheels, a brand
new set of center caps are included. BFGoodrich tires look to be in
excellent shape. Has a white convertible top. Door jambs are clean,
the metal lip on the bottom of doors are nice. Weather strips and
window seals were replaced.
INTERIOR: In between the bucket seats is a console with a Hurst
dual gate shifter, a really neat feature. I noticed all the
interior lights work. Dash area is very nice, not beat up or cut.
Has original am radio in the factory hole. Also has a sport
steering wheel. Upholstery is all real good. Seats, door panels,
carpet, looks very nice.
ENGINE COMPARTMENT: The 455 was completely rebuilt by "Fast Frank",
a known Olds engine builder. Has Comp cam, roller rockers. Carb was
sent out east to be rebuilt and jetted to engine specs. Most
components from the firewall forward are replaced. Upgraded
Pertronix ignition, new radiator, alternator, Gm hoses and clamps,
belts etc. Has the correct ram air air cleaner assembly with a
vacuum operated flapper and the heat riser tube is even still in
place. The motor compartment is very neatly detailed. The motor is
painted the correct blue. Firewall, brackets, brake booster look
nice. Has correct "chicken" wire on the bottom of the hood.
TRUNK COMPARTMENT: It looks nice. Has a durable gray and aqua
spatter finish paint. The well liner and weatherstrip was replaced.
The jamb is painted real shiny.
UNDERSIDE: Most mechanical components were rebuilt or replaced.
Front end was rebuilt- balljoints, bushings, tie rod ends etc. New
quick ratio steering box. Bottom of the motor is spotless, painted
correct blue. Starter and fuel pump were replaced. Original Turbo
400 auto trans was rebuilt and is spotless looking. U-joints were
replaced. Has nicely bent exhaust system with Flowmaster mufflers.
Has optional Rallye suspension which includes sway bars and boxed
control arms. It also has a 12 bolt posi rear end. Brakes were
redone, has disc in front. Hoses, lines, e-brake cables were
replaced. The metal is clean original. Floors, braces, inner
rockers are clean and painted semi gloss black.
I think this '70 442 with it's massive ram air scoops, stripes,
spoiler, great colors has off the charts eye appeal. The
Lamborghini of muscle cars. Restoration was done by experts in
their fields. Someone will get a great car here!
