Vehicle Description
This is indeed a rare sight. Here we have a 1963 Chevrolet Corvair
95 Rampside Pickup that has been so meticulously restored and
preserved that few would argue that it is better than new. Many NOS
parts were used to bring it up to this level. It scored 98.01 and
received a Gold Award at the Corvair Convention in Western New
York. Of course, this comes from judges who know Corvairs. Further,
this is one of those vehicles with just the right colors and
equipment to make it an eye catcher in any environment. It's
equipped with the famous rear-mounted aluminum 146 cubic inch
horizontally opposed flat six. This engine runs flawlessly and the
torque is astounding. Teamed with it is the optional four-speed
manual transmission. Four years went into the nut and bolt build.
The odometer shows 87,302 miles as this is written and the last
8000 came after the restoration. It's hard to believe this vehicle
has been driven 8000 miles because it's so sanitary. On the other
hand, all post-resto adjustments are done and this amazing Corvair
truck is mechanically and cosmetically as complete as is possible
right down to the correct Corvair oil filter. It even has a factory
tissue dispenser! The exterior paint combination of Cardinal Red
and Cameo White make the truck a true standout. The color scheme
carries over into the interior with the addition of some black
trim. The outstanding and truly unique feature is the ramp door on
the passenger side that gives this model its name. Just for fun, a
vintage Rollfast bike is included so you can demonstrate it. The
ramp loads into a huge 81/2 foot bed. There's a tailgate in the
back too. When you see this truck, it will be instantly apparent
that it has been well loved and cared for. It comes with the 1963
Corvair Owners Guide. Every detail has been looked after, and it
received new radial tires and a tune-up in February 2018. A 1963
Corvair 95 Rampside is a rare find, and this fine example is among
the very best.
