Vehicle Description
The fifties was a time of flamboyant style, and trucks were not
left out. The Chevrolet Cameo pickup would be a precursor to the
stylish and luxurious trucks we drive today. This 1958 Cameo 31
Apache is a fine example of the breed. Decked out in two-tone
paint, loads of chrome and a fiberglass bed, only about 1400 were
built. So, few exist today, especially ones this beautiful. Another
of the best things to come from Chevrolet in the '50's was the 283
V8. This truck has it. It's known for performance that belies its
displacement. With the "three-on-the-tree" shifter, the vintage
driving experience is delightfully intact. The interior presents as
new. One of the most amazing things about it is, the color
treatment would be right at home in a new truck. Apparently, the
designers and stylists were indeed ahead of their time, which is
what they were shooting for. Classic Chevy trucks are popular to be
sure, but this rare Cameo Apache is in another category. Acquired
from a private collection, it's ready for you to add to yours.
