This is an early build of the Series 1 4.2 (October 1964) which is corroborated by original factory amendments that were included with the owner’s manual. A professional number one ground up concours rotisserie restoration was completed on this roadster in Phoenix, Arizona in 1990. The car was painted a deep British Racing Green metallic, upholstered in Biscuit leather, and restored to all original specifications with the exception of the lacquer paint, a lightweight flywheel, and stainless steel exhaust. There are two photo albums with over 400 photographs documenting the restoration process. Driven less than 500 miles and garaged by one owner in Las Vegas, NV. Recently the triple SU HD8 carburetors and the entire fuel system were meticulously cleaned and restored, the brakes bled, and all fluids changed. The car is 100% drivable and mechanically sound. This car is a solid Hagerty #2 condition car with nothing wrong mechanically or electrically.
This vehicle was originally registered in Roslyn, Long Island, NY and later in Deal, NJ. It was located in storage in Lakewood, NJ when discovered once again in 1989. The pre-restoration mileage was 45,598, as shown by title and photo documented at the time of restoration.
