For a whopping $31,683 the ZR1 came equipped with the LT5 engine developing an astonishing 375 horsepower, thanks to four overhead camshafts, an 11-to-1 compression ratio and four valves per cylinder. The ZR1 was capable of 0-60 mph in 4.3 seconds, a 13-second quarter-mile at about 110 mph and 180 mph top speed. Most significantly, the fuel-injection system shut down eight of the 16 intake runners until half throttle, so the engine was powerful and flexible, with a 7,200 rpm redline.
