Vehicle Description
The 2003 Honda S2000 is an instant classic. After all, a
precision-built droptop sports car with a wonderful engine and
sharp handling is a recipe that we know will always be in demand.
So to find a low mileage example in such a well-preserved original
condition is a true treat.
Nothing else looked like the S2000 when it debuted, and today, this
modern classic still holds huge distinction. The long hood and
sharp creases gives this the steely gaze of a shark on the hunt.
The crisp look is all part of a car built with precision (these
came from the same factory as the small-batch NSX.) It also helps
that the factory original Sebring Silver has been treated with
great care, so you get an awesome shine on this sunshine-friendly
convertible. That's what you get with a car that has been babied
correctly and has averaged less than 1,700 miles annually. The
factory alloys are clean; the headlights are clear; and everything
has the feel of quality. This has been well-respected from day
one.
The interior is a pure driver-focused environment. You get
terrifically-bolstered leather bucket seats, a grippy sports
steering wheel, and a gearstick right where you want your right
hand to be. The gauges are a digital masterpiece of clear and
necessary info. It's motorcycle-like in the way it keeps you
constantly in-tune with the speed and revs (and the very
motorcycle-like 9,000 RPM redline!) And Honda really went the extra
mile to make this driver-focused. That's why there is a flip-up
panel to hide the AM/FM/CD stereo unit (to reduce
light/distraction) and instead you can control it from a finger
tip's reach of the steering wheel. And just below that is the big
red engine start button. Even if you want to attack every back road
with this one, there's also a passenger seat so you can share the
experience. And this modern classic has a ton of features to keep
you both happy, like power windows, power locks, keyless
entry/alarm, dual front airbags, and side airbags. The top powers
down with the flip of a switch. Plus, the cold-blowing air
conditioning means you get to stay comfortable when open to the
world, even in the summertime.
Honda's famous red cylinder head makes a bold look in the engine
bay. You can instantly see more of this car's respected life by the
extra clean presentation. While you have a long hood, the motor is
set far back so it's behind the front axle for a terrific weight
distribution (and true enthusiasts will mention that when you lift
the hood at car shows.) It's not only the placement of the motor,
but also what it does. This high-revving 2.0-liter is the original
numbers-matching powerplant. It produces 240 horsepower, which is
an amazing feat considering there's no turbocharger. It makes for a
wonderful power package that's built for performance confidence at
all times. The same goes for the crisp six-speed manual
transmission. The strong chassis, fully-independent sports
suspension, power steering, and four-wheel disc brakes w/ABS are
all part of well-engineered symphony of speed. They combine with
the mid-engine's low center of gravity to deliver one of the best
roadster feelings ever put to the road.
Complete with owner's manual, this is a well-preserved modern icon.
So while the mileage is low, we know you won't be able to resist
