You can have a lot of fun and get a lot of speed for not a lot of
cash when you open yourself up to cars like this 1975 Chevrolet
Corvette. Featuring an amazingly low 29,080 actual miles on the
clock, this slick Steel Blue 2-seater is a beautifully preserved
survivor with a numbers matching 350 V8 with great options and good
original docs. Take a closer look, they don't get much more
original than this.
Code 27 Steel Blue was the rarest color you could get in 1975 on a
Corvette, further adding to the mystique of this incredibly
preserved C3. From what we can tell (and the low mileage backs up
the claim), the paint is all original, and it still shows very well
with expected flaws evident only upon closer examination. The
fiberglass underneath looks extremely good, as if this car has
never seen any rough action, and the little details give it a slick
look that will always stand out on this Stingray. Check out the
subtle yet aggressive cowl induction hood, the solid urethane
bumpers fore and aft, the luggage rack, and the cool convex
taillights that give it a new look. Both the front and rear bumpers
fit as well as they did from the factory and the black rubber
bumper guards and front chin spoiler work to help tie it all
together. The luggage rack out back is actually a useful accessory
if you ever want to travel in your Corvette and T-tops give it an
open-air feeling when you want it and a secure, quiet coupe when
you don't.
The original interior is as good as C3 Corvettes get, with handsome
Code 26 Dark Blue vinyl seat upholstery, beautiful matching door
panels, and a center console that are all perfect for the '70s
supercar. Other good stuff is all OEM Corvette, ranging from the
leather-wrapped steering wheel to the supportive seats, to options
like factory A/C, power windows, cruise control, and a
tilt/telescope steering column, so it's an easy place to spend some
time. An AM/FM/Cassette stereo still on the console is pure 1970s
cool, and yes it still works. If you had any doubts that the
mileage of 29,080 is authentic, the strong original condition of
the interior will immediately put those concerns to rest. Pull the
T-tops off, turn on your favorite sounds, and you'll find that this
cool vintage 'Vette still delivers first-class fun, just like it
did when it was turning heads in 1975.
The 350 cubic inch V8 is this car's original, numbers-matching
engine, and with so few miles on the clock, it runs superbly. The
195HP L48 V8 was the most common powertrain for the 'Vette in 1975
and makes the kind of robust low-end torque that makes American V8
cars so much fun to drive. It's not really detailed for show,
although it's still very clean under the hood and the way this 100%
stock and original engine runs will make you forget all about
sitting still at a car show. The TH400 3-speed automatic
transmission is also the car's original, and it snaps off shifts so
quickly that you'll never wish for a clutch again. The exhaust
sounds great and still includes factory-style mufflers, and the
chassis shows off decades of clean living someplace where snow
doesn't rot the cars. Shiny factory slotted mag wheels are fitted
at all four corners and give the Corvette a slightly racy stance,
and they're wrapped in 225/70/15 BFGoodrich white-letter
performance radials that complete the look.
Documented with an original warranty card, dealer's invoice,
owner's manuals, and maintenance records, this is a handsome,
affordable, survivor low-mileage C3 that isn't trying too hard to
be an untouchable piece of Corvette history, which is kind of
