Factory-built 1979 Excalibur Phaeton Series 3 for sale. This limited production Excalibur has been enjoyed by its original owners since new and nicely cared for over its 41k miles. These neo-classics we owned by some of the most iconic celebrities such as Tony Curtis, Phyllis Diller, Jackie Gleason, Dean Martin, James Brown, Liberace, and even Ronald Reagan! The AACA has added the Excalibur Automobile to its list of 2nd generation collector cars.
The powerful GM 454 Big Block V8 starts and runs beautifully. The heavy-duty turbo 400 automatic transmission shifts as designed. The handling is tight with Corvette independent suspension, power steering, power four-wheel Corvette disc brakes, and a Corvette Positraction rear-end along with working, rear air shocks. The GM mechanicals makes these cars extremely easy to have serviced with no shortage of mechanical parts.
The hand-laid, extra thick fiberglass body is in outstanding condition and still retains its original finish and shows well. The soft top and side curtains are present along with the boot cover. The wire wheels are wrapped in older Vogue tires with plenty of treads. The original hardtop is shown sitting on top of the car. It has been stored since new and unfortunately, the moths damaged the felt headliner. Otherwise, the car is highly functional and even has working air conditioning.
This Excalibur has been aggressively priced making it an exceptional value for anyone looking to add a cool high-performance, neo-classic to their collection.
