Vehicle Description
Motorcar Studio is pleased to offer this 1969 Chevrolet Camaro.
Badged as an SS 396, it actually has a 502 cubic inch V8 stuffed
under the hood mated to a Tremec 5-speed manual transmission.
Finished in Lemans Blue with a black vinyl top over blue interior;
it has just the right stance (slightly lower than stock) on
American Racing alloys. With the same collector owner since 2007
and only driven on nice weather days. This Camaro shows as a clean
and well-cared-for example with no major flaws to note.
Interior presents nicely with seat upholstery, door panels, carpet,
dash and headliner all in good condition. OEM tach and speedo in
the dash with fuel level, oil pressure, water temp and voltage
indicated by a set of Auto Meter Pro-Comp gauges mounted in the
center console forward of the shifter.
The owner installed a ZZ502 crate motor from GM Performance (rated
at 502 horsepower and 567 lb-ft of torque) soon after his purchase
in 2007 (along with the Tremec TKO 600 five-speed); the drivetrain
now has around 5,000 miles on it. Accessories include Hooker
headers, a Holley 850 cfm carburetor, aluminum radiator with
electric fan, and billet power steering pump, water pump and
alternator. Steering, suspension and brakes have also been upgraded
to handle the extra power - including a 600 steering gear from
Detroit Speed, new springs, shocks and sway bars from Hotchkis and
a complete brake system overhaul. Positraction rear end. Tidy
engine bay features fully functional hood louvers (that big block
gulps lots of air).
All service is up to date. Tens of thousands of dollars in records
accompany the sale. This is a well-tuned example that starts and
runs great (and reliably makes big power, thanks to incredible
out-of-the box performance from a GM factory crate engine). For
