1967 Corvette coupe equipped with PS, PB, PW, speed warning, window washers, leather interior, seat belts, AM-FM radio, automatic transmission and cold factory AC. It is a verified California “black plate” with installed California SMOG equipment. Besides a fresh paint job, it is very original 53,000 mile car. Numbers matching 327, 300 HP with power glide. It was painted last year by Waddell's Customs in Essex, Maryland. It is the correct rally red done in base coat/clear coat. The car was stripped down and prepped as a corvette should be painted. It was painted doors off, hood off. This Waddell's paint job is one of the best I've seen. After painting, it was hand-sanded and buffed to a brilliant shine. When the car was reassembled, all new badges, trim rings, door handles, light bezels, mirror were replaced. Along with all new door seals, rubber, vent-wing seals and window fur was replaced. The bumpers have not been rechromed only because they were very nice as-is and it was a 3-months wait time.
The interior of the car is about as original as it can be. Only the headliner and the front carpet have been replaced. The seats are in terrific shape with no tears, rips or scuffs. The dash pads are also very nice with no breaks tor stains. The door panels are very nice as well. The clock keeps perfect time.
As for the drive train, the motor was just pulled and repainted along with rebuilding the heads with hardened valve seats. it is a number matching 327 with the original Numbers matching 2-speed power glide transmission. It has the original Holley carburetor that was recently rebuilt by Van’s here in Indy. Everything else is original, including the California Smog equipment and accompanying “black” plates. The transmission does not leak and it shifts smoothly and perfectly. It has a new AC Delco starter, new AC Delco battery and voltage regulator. Rebuilt original alternator and rebuilt original air conditioning compressor changed over to R134a. The air blows ice cold. New brakes all the way around with AC Delco calipers, new front rotors and all new hoses. New U-joints for both drive shafts and new front and rear shocks. The steering under the wooden steering wheel is tight with no slop. When the gas tank was removed it was replaced and a new seal was installed between the filler tube and the tank. The engine compartment has been freshened up and detailed. The underside of the car is 100% rust free and in exceptional shape with no pitting or undercarriage damage. See photos. A complete new exhaust has also been installed. The car is ready to jump in and drive it anywhere you want to go.
This is a stand-tall car and ready to go. The headlight buckets work every time and the headlights have been properly adjusted. The car shifts correctly and idles around 900. As for options, the car has power brakes, power steering, power windows (work smoothly), speedometer speed warning, leather seats and factory air-conditioning. The dash console is clean and the gauges are clear and bright. A brand new set of red line radial tires from Coker mounted on the factory rally wheels make the ride perfect. i have recently learned via the Corvette forum, the way this car is optioned, it is considered rare as far as options. There were only 205 base model coupes ordered with the speedometer speed warning option and 89 cars with red leather, trim code 408. These options makes this car one of 15 with this configuration.
