1989 PORSCHE 911/930 TURBO RUF BTR COUPE:
--Black metallic with Black leather interior, Black carpeting, 72,000 miles from new, 5-speed G50/50 manual transmission, Matching Numbers, RUF registry, Maintained by RUF for many years through 2016.
The BTR marked the beginning of RUF as a manufacturer in its own right, establishing itself as the most highly regarded of all the Porsche tuning companies. The BTR was inspired by the FIA Group B regulations of the time, utilizing a 930 Turbo as a basis to compete with the fastest products from Ferrari, Lamborghini and Porsche itself. The BTR was routinely regarded as the fastest accelerating road car at the time.
The BTR utilized a 930 turbo engine bored to 3.4 liters and then fitted with Mahle pistons, RUF 935-type camshafts, RUF intercooler and a larger KKK turbo. This resulted in a power output of 374 bhp. Various other modifications to the car included enhancements to the body and interior, RUF sport steering wheel, RUF gauges, RUF suspension, RUF specific 17-inch wheels, RUF front spoiler with oil-cooler, Fog lights, RUF quad-pipe sport muffler, and a RUF five-speed gearbox. This particular BTR is equipped with the G50/50, only available for the 1989 model year 911 Turbo.
This 930 Turbo was sold new in Germany and sent directly to RUF Automobile for a full BTR conversion. Options on the car include Sunroof, Heated sport seats and all RUF fittings as stated above. Full ownership history is included in the file folder. This BTR has enjoyed seasonal use throughout its lifetime thus far and has enjoyed well maintained European ownership until being acquired by Tom Papadopoulos-Autosport Designs personal ownership and use.
During our ownership, this BTR has received a complete mechanical servicing to make sure it is the best it can be. It has also received the following updates as well as further maintenance: Alpine radio head unit with Bluetooth, New alternator, New battery and Complete air conditioning overhaul.
This BTR is complete with its original RUF Porsche manual, Letter from RUF Automobile confirming RUF authenticity, Books, Service book stampings, Factory tools, jack, spare and first aid kit. Besides being extremely fast, it is completely docile for everyday use. It has been run at .08 bar of boost to ensure the engines longevity. Sure to put a large grin on your face, it is pure enjoyment as only Porsche and RUF can supply. A welcomed addition to any Porsche or RUF collection.
