This 1962 Porsche 356B 1600 is one of just 248 T6 roadsters with
coachwork from D'Ieteren Frres. Finished in Oslo Blue over a red
leather interior, this US-market example was sold new in Tacoma,
Washington. The third owner purchased the car in 1975 and kept it
for 42 years, during which time it was reportedly stored in his
aircraft hangar and driven periodically. That owner also installed
a period-correct Super 90 package, including the engine,
tachometer, rear compensator spring, and badge. A dealer acquired
the car in 2017 and subsequently commissioned a photo-documented
restoration that returned it to the factory color combination.
Chris Powell, a longtime member of the PCA National Technical
Committee and the proprietor of Chris's German Auto Service,
handled the mechanical work, including rebuilds of the 1.6-liter
flat-four, original gearbox, suspension, and brakes. Under 100
miles have been added since the restoration was completed. The
selling dealer acquired the car after it was auctioned on BaT in
April 2019. This 356 Roadster is now offered in California with a
Porsche Production Specifications certificate, Kardex, driver's
manual, restoration records, and a clean Washington title. This
