Vehicle Description
Unique 1986 Chevrolet El Camino pickup! This 33 year-old Chevy is
an interesting find for about the cost of the sales tax alone on a
new, quickly depreciating Silverado pickup truck. As you can see by
the photos, I recently began prepping it for a 'brick house-themed
art car'. I can sell it as it sits OR finish the project for the
new owner. Or perhaps it will be repainted to a more original
luster. In any case, it is a solid, quite rust-free example with
fresh interior upholstery, 305 V8 engine mated to the factory
automatic transmission. The currently working five-digit odometer
shows about 79,500 miles BUT the carfax shows a discrepancy so the
actual true mileage cannot be 100% verified. It sports chrome
hubcaps with good B.F. Goodrich white-lettered tires, updated cd
stereo and some custom paint elements on the dash. It is being sold
with original owner's manual, clean and clear California title and
remote alarm key fob. THE BODY AND TRIM This exterior of this 1986
Chevy is in good, scuffed/sanded, partially complete brick house
motif with vinyl striping overlay which can be completed by me OR
easily removed for prepping for a more original glossy paint finish
[new paint would be the responsibility of the new owner of course].
There is some noticeable bondo cracking on the rear tailgate along
with various nicks, scratches, fading and some light corrosion on
the chrome wheels THE INTERIOR As I hope is articulated in the
photos, the interior of this 1986 El Co is in quite nice condition
overall featuring refurbished carpet and cloth seat upholstery,
nice door panels and headliner, updated cd stereo, custom painted
dash and fabric dash cover. The lights, blinkers, horn, heat all
work. The A/C is not blowing cold and the dash is all cracked and
deteriorated under the cover. THE DRIVING EXPERIENCE This 1986
Chevy starts easily with decent running engine, good shifting
transmission, solid straight braking and quite smooth and supple
steering and suspension.
