Vehicle Description
Sunnyside Chevrolet of Elyria, Ohio in conjunction with Greg's
Sports, Classic, & Muscle is proud to offer for sale this beautiful
1956 Healey 100 BN2 NASTY BOY!
THIS CAR IS NOT FOR THE FAINT OF HEART OR UNSKILLED
DRIVER-BEWARE!
Cobra Killer, Cobra Killer, Cobra Killer! Did I mention it's a
Cobra Killer? This 100/4 Healey has some SCCA Race history from the
60's and has been converted to one bad son of a gun V8 monster. You
are gonna need to check your drawers if you have the nerve to stomp
on the gas in this bad boy. Before we get to the car I guess I'd
ask this question- why would anyone buy a plastic kit car Cobra
when you can have a REAL car like this that would have prowled the
streets in the 60's dusting everything that pulled up next to it at
a light?
Quality throughout. This is not some half-hearted effort at
converting a Healey-It's all done right. Chevy 350 block from 1969.
Holly 4-barrel model 4150 off a 396/375hp Chevelle, riding on an
Edelbrock intake. This thing makes horsepower. Then we are going to
transfer power through a Borg Warner T10 4-speed that is very tight
and fast, then on to an indestructible Ford 9" rear end.
Bulletproof. Wanna know if you can stop- of course you can with
4-wheel disc brakes! Up front this monster is running Excelsior
Racing Competition tires on wire wheels and the rear has Fenton
Aluminum Gyro Racing rims shod by 225/60R 15's just to make sure
the burn out tracks are nice and wide.....
It is my opinion that this car has never been rusty and the
Heritage Certificate we have for it says it was a Reno Red over
Black BN2 from the factory. Rare to start with. The full vin on the
Heritage is BN2-L/229933. The plate on the car is simply 229933-
not uncommon in the day. We have registration papers going back to
Fort Lauderdale Florida in May of 1966. Then it went to Anderson
Indiana in 1966 and had just two owners until we purchased it
recently...great history.
This Healey is all steel where it's supposed to be- fenders
(including the rear flares), doors hood and trunk. It's also
sporting its aluminum front and rear shrouds. I see no evidence of
patches or repairs. Ever. The frame is excellent and red just as it
came from the factory 63 years ago.... The paint is well done, very
nice and just aging a bit. The grill is an excellent original-
looks terrific. The roll bar and the driver fairing can be removed
if so desired.
The interior is excellent and very well gauged. Inside find a very
nice set of Smiths, Auto Meter, Sunpro and SW gauges that all work
and make for a very impressive dash. Very clean- very nice. Just
flip the main cutoff switch on, turn the magneto on, hit the
starter button and she instantly fires to life with a growl.
My recommendation for this one- hit the button, mash the gas and
smile, smile, smile.
Drive it, show it, keep it in a bubble and polish it as a prized
possession, the choice is yours once you make it yours.
We stand behind our thoughts on this car by offering our travel
expenses guarantee- come see the car and if we have materially
misrepresented its condition we will gladly pay half of your travel
expenses up to $500.00- this offer had been in place since we sold
our first classic and we haven't paid the money yet.... We pride
ourselves on having good cars and representing them properly.
