Vehicle Description
1965 Cobra Roadster
For the power and style enthusiast, everyone knows that having both
in an original is way out of most people's reach. In particular
those all originals can be finicky and require lots of garaging and
trailering, and little driving, unless you are pulling your
personal wrencher in a motor home with that classic!
As the saying goes there is more than one way to skin a cat, or you
can have your cake and eat it too! The solution lies in this
classic repro from Everett Morrison. This car was painstakingly
constructed by Enzo Alibrandi of Finish Line Motors, hailing out of
Miramar, Florida. And, in this case it's all wrapped up for you.
Just get in and drive.
Exterior
This SC style body with flares is draped in stunning red. Dual wide
white racing stripes run through the middle of the car from bow to
stern. Chrome shows slight early signs of minor pitting and dulling
but remains good. Gaps are good, and fiberglass is unmarred. Dual
chromed side pipes "snake" their way from the engine bay to the
rockers. 15" Halibrand repo knockoff spinners are wrapped by
Goodrich TA radials, and are on all 4 corners. Noted are a hood
scoop, and a chromed roll bar, just as an original would have.
Interior
Black vinyl tuck and roll buckets with racing harnesses sit within
a sea of black carpet. Seats are in very nice condition and carpet
is good. Cobra embroidered floor mats keep the carpet from getting
too worn out. A nice black padded and white stitched vinyl dash
front has several gauges inset, as well as a few toggles. 3 spokes
for the aluminum steering wheel with centered Cobra logo, and a
wood laminated wheel surround protrudes from the dash. This car has
a frame and cloth top that can be installed, as well as side
curtains.
Drivetrain
The 351ci Windsor V8 which is a Phoenix Engine's crate motor is
tucked neatly into the clean engine bay. A single 4-barrel feeds
the mill, and a Richmond 5-speed manual transmission is bolted to
the back.
Undercarriage
Straight and strong tubular steel with very nice body hangers, rust
free rockers, and a clean tub underneath, present very nicely.
4-wheel independent suspension and 4-wheel power disc brakes can be
seen from underneath.
Drive-Ability
Lighting the candles and instantly you are enveloped in a concert
of side-piped sound in stereo. Pop it into gear, and off you go,
with a smooth shifting transmission, sturdy feel to the clutch, and
plenty of power. Steering wheel is ergonomically placed, and this
car handles very well. A pleasure to drive, and plenty of volume
for your listening and driving pleasure.
Basically, turn the key and go with this red and white striped kit
racer. With exacting standards during the build, and well
documented in the various material that comes with this car,
receipts, and data, you will be rest assured you have a quality
replica in your capable hands. Please note this is a SP
CONSTRUCTION Pennsylvania Title.
