For Sale at Auction: 1967 Porsche 912 in Tacoma, Washington

Vehicle Description

1967 Porsche 912 – Excellent Daily Driver Condition. This 1967 Porsche 912 has been restored to be a reliable daily driver in Seattle weather (year-round). If you’re expecting a museum quality concours vehicle that you rarely drive … this is NOT the car for you. I purchased this car 13 years ago and have been slowly rebuilding this treasure with the mindset of ENJOYING the car daily. Why have a car parked in your garage that you only drive a handful of times a year? I want to drive my cars and enjoy them on a daily basis. A car, especially a Porsche, is meant to be DRIVEN. Paint Job:  Fair (purposeful).Engine: Excellent. Interior: Excellent. Undercarriage: Good (welding doesn’t look pretty in a few places – but it’s solid and the entire undercarriage has been sealed).*The horn doesn’t work.*The windshield wiper fluid unit doesn’t spray. The following restorations have been done to make this Porsche a fantastic head turning daily driver that you can enjoy commuting to work in or driving around every weekend (even in the rain):• Exterior body was blasted down to the bare metal (see pics), and then a coat of POR15 was sprayed down (i.e. thus sealing the exterior body to not rust). When the POR15 was dry but still tacky (following instructions from POR15 headquarters) the car was then sprayed with grey primer. The car was then given several coats of red and topcoat. The paint job is NOT a concourse paint job and this was intentional. The paint job is fair reason being if it was concours I wouldn’t be driving it daily. I wanted the car to be sealed and then painted fairly so that I wouldn’t be afraid to drive it every day. Mission accomplished. I’ve been planning on wet sanding the paint but will leave that to the next owner.• The entire interior was removed, and interior sanded down to the bare metal, and then coated with POR15 (the entire interior – floor to ceiling) so that nothing on the inside of the car would rust down the road. The car was then given a fresh $15K+ leather interior by Rich’s Customs Interiors in Kingston, WA. Dashboard, door panels, and front and back seats all done in custom black German leather (it’s beautiful). I wanted the interior to last through my lifetime and to be luxury (and it will/is). New headliner and carpet also installed/updated. The interior of this car is in excellent/mint condition. Interior also includes a custom Sony Bluetooth stereo system with hidden door panel focal speakers in the front and back.• The original numbers matching engine was rebuilt from the bottom up by Wolfsburg Motorworks in Ballard (they’ve since relocated to Salt Lake City, UT). Also included in the rebuild was a new aluminum oil cooler (to ensure it doesn’t overheat), two new weber carbs, and a new galvanized gas tank. This rebuild was done in 2010.• Calipers were rebuilt by goldline breaks in 2017 (they are located on the Olympic Peninsula). New brakes and rotors installed 2018.• Custom Bursch exhaust system that was custom ceramic coated to increase horsepower and reduce heat (and resist rust) installed in 2018.• Transmission rebuilt, new clutch installed, and flywheel seal replaced by Redmond European in 2019.• New Koni shocks and struts installed fall 2018.• MDS Ignition system installed in winter 2019.• All 5 gauges rebuilt in CA in winter 2019 (to include soft LED lights). This was $5k alone.• I have the Porsche/Kardex certificate of authenticity paperwork and confirmed numbers matching.• Lots of extra parts. Is this car in perfect or concours condition? No. Absolutely not. But it has been meticulously restored to be a reliable and fun daily driver that you can enjoy for many years to come. I would, without hesitation, trust driving this car across the country (zero fear).
