Vehicle Description
1969 Chevrolet Chevelle SS Coupe
Like the Tri-Five Chevys that came before it, the Chevelle is one
of those cars GM aced right out of the gate and continued to
perfect. Eventually, the marque became one of the strongest brands
in automotive history; and at one point, with a full list of body
styles, options, trim grades, color combinations, and engines which
ranged from mild to outrageous, literally embodied the 'custom
built' nature that defines the muscle car era.
Offered for consignment is a numbers matching, fully documented,
real SS 396ci big block car. Condition could best be described as
show ready, but do not be fooled, it is definitely a shower, but
also a goer.
Exterior
Garnet Red respray graces the exterior of this very correct, and
mostly straight car. A black pinstripe cuts across the belt line
and is highlighted by correct brite work, and awesomely clean
bumpers, and grille. A very nice quality and condition black vinyl
top stretches across the passenger compartment and does a beautiful
job of topping off this muscle car.
Interior
Can you say red, red, red? A split vinyl bench in front and a solid
bench in the rear, show in near perfect condition. A sea of red
carpet laps at the base of the benches, and is in excellent
condition. A wonderful red headliner is atop on the inside and
shows no runs drips or errors. Door panels match the seats and have
added aluminum trim for accenting. A black dash fronted by an
original steering wheel in red, which has a rare automatic column
shift, houses the standard gauges. 3 additional gauges are mounted
underneath the dash, so the driver can monitor important
information as they dust off the competition. Vintage Air blows
nice and cool through this original dash. Flanking the rear bench
are 2 custom made pillows to throw around.
Drivetrain
An SS 396ci big block V8 nestles itself in a very clean engine bay.
Chromed valve covers, and air cleaner gleams with pride against the
red engine block, and intake manifold. Not a spec of any corrosion
is seen on the aluminum parts within this bay. The 700 R4 Automatic
transmission is noted, which replaces the original TH400. (which
the consigner still retains and will come with the purchase of this
car). Underside presents nicely and is as clean as the topside.
A real original survivor, with extras such as original sale
contract, original title, pre delivery checklist, build punchcard,
sales brochure, and metal warranty card from dealer and with a mere
consigner stated 29,800 miles, show quality, street fight ready,
maintains its head turning capabilities. As this car screams down
the road, the interior screams red, and will make you scream with
excitement.
