Vehicle Description
Extraordinary 1949 Black Hudson
Commodore 8. Under the hood rests the Hudson Power Dome in-line 8
cylinder engine that runs smoothly, has been detailed to show
quality standards and is backed by a 3 speed manual transmission
with overdrive. Award winning, very original, survivor car. This is
probably one of the best kept Hudsons on the planet. Very nice
black paint and gorgeous, mostly original, sparkling chrome all the
way around. The doors, hood and trunk lid all open and shut like
the day it was new. The tan pin striped interior and dash are
impeccable, extremely well maintained and have stood the test of
time. The interior is also equipped with adjustable roof mounted
antenna, front and rear courtesy lighting, wood grain treatment on
the dash and garnish moldings, Hudson tissue dispenser, beautiful
chrome trim and bezels, clear instrumentation, spotlight and the
one of a kind, original Hudson steering wheel. Rolling on correct
steel wheels and Hudson hubcaps and a newer set of wide white

Information"The Hudson Commodore is an automobile which was
produced by the Hudson Motor Car Company of Detroit, Michigan
between 1941 and 1952. During its time in production, the Commodore
was the largest and most luxurious Hudson model.""Commodore series
was Hudson's largest model range in its debut year, consisting of
sedans, coupes and convertibles. Hudson used a forward hinged hood
that opened from the rear by the windshield with the front end of
the hood sliding downward over the grille. Elements of the interior
and exterior were styled by Betty Thatcher, 'the first woman
designer to be employed by a car manufacturer'.""For 1949, the
Commodore line was enlarged to include more luxurious Custom
models. As a marketing promotion, Hudson had plastic specialists
use scaled-down blueprints to develop transparent models of the
Commodore Eight sedan to demonstrate and promote the design and
construction of the cars."American Dream Machines
