Built for twelve year from 1989 through 2001 was the R129 Chassis.
lets just start by saying that these cars were extremely ahead of
the time and if you were anyone with some sort of expendable income
then more than likely you owned one of these at the tune of around
$100,000.00 depending on the year, and if you couldn't afford one
then you dreamed of owning one. All of these cars came with a
detachable aluminum hardtop along with the soft-top. These cars are
a true pleasure to drive if you find a well sorted one. This
particular 500 SL is the one you want. There are plenty of other
cars out there that need this or that or are ready for a service,
however this one is ready to go with excellent ownership history
from new having just three long term owners. In the last five
years, the current consignor has spent over $16,000 on service and
making this car up to date on everything. The power top including
hydraulics are all new and operate flawlessly. This car has a clean
carfax with no accidents ever and the paint still shines nicely.
The interior is excellent as is the convertible top. The climate
control works good with nice ice cold A/C. There are no lights on
the dash, the car starts, runs and drives perfectly with new tires
and brakes. This 500 comes with owners manual, window sticker,
service records, clean carfax and unopened first aid kit.
