Vehicle Description
1972 Chevrolet Monte Carlo Solid Project Car Car was purchased new
in 1972. Always well maintained but also used as a daily driver:
1972-1979 in Arizona and 1980-1997 in Western Washington. Current
owner drove it senior year of high school 1996-1997, graduated in
1997 and went into the Marines that summer and the Monte Carlo went
into the garage and for the most part has been sitting there ever
since just started it up again on July 3, 2019 Interior restored
and the engine rebuilt years ago but never had it repainted. Body
looked decent from a distance but it was a daily driver for 25
years so up close it shows the little dings and scratches that
happen to a car that old. A couple years ago my plan was to finally
get it repainted. stripped it down, took off all the chrome, grill,
bumpers, glass, etc and started sanding on it a little but never
made it very far. When I took out the rear glass it exposed some
metal rot around the bottom Also a little bit of rust behind the
rear wheels - nothing too extreme but will probably need to be
patched. have the small parts that were taken off labeled in zip
lock bags. Obviously the big parts (bumpers, grill, glass, seats
etc) are also included Numbers matching, 350 4bbl, bored .030 over.
Rebuilt at 189,870 miles in June 1996 17,680 miles on rebuilt
engine Turbo 350, the original transmission was swapped out for one
that was rebuilt, has a leak that will need to be addressed
Currently stripped down ready to be sanded and have the exterior
restored Replaced original interior carpet, headliner, upholstery,
and door panels; removed bench seats. Please Note The Following
