1978 Cadillac Eldorado Classic Biarritz Custom, one of only 2,000 made. Modified/customized by a company called American Sunroof Corporation in Southgate, MI via contract with Cadillac Motor Division. When fresh off of the assembly line in Detroit, these special cars were immediately shipped to American Sunroof Corporation, modified, and returned to Cadillac Motor Division in Detroit, where they were promptly shipped off to various dealerships across the United States and sold as new vehicles to new owners.
28,000 original miles. Drives like a dream, incredibly comfortable ride. Four wheel power disc brakes, with newer components (calipers, rotors, pads). This car is gorgeous from a distance, but up close one can see it has a few issues.
Issues with this car include: A/C does not work; I have no idea why. Passenger power seat does not work; goes all the way forward just fine (already maxed out); will not "go back". Driver's power seat works, but is feeble. The Demitasse brown paint, recently waxed, shows white unbuffed wax in recessed lines. The Arizona beige paint has areas needing touching up. Dash light for left-turn indicator does not work.
Things like cruise control, stereo, power antennas, etc. I honestly even not yet had a chance to check out. You are more than welcome to arrive and try these features to your own satisfaction. Power windows and power door locks work fantastic. Has original Cadillac Motor Division Eldorado floor mat sets installed, front and rear. They appear to be in mint and unmolested condition.
As far as I can tell (and I am certainly no authority on this subject); it seems the "bumper fillers" have been recently replaced. Apparently, these things tend to rot with age, regardless of preventative measures taken. On this car, they appear flawless. I purchased this vehicle from a local estate liquidator, this car was one of 19 collector cars from that estate. Other than polishing it up a bit, I really haven't had much time to become familiar with it. It does need some work, but it's a real crowd pleaser with lots of potential.
