Vehicle Description
This 1948 Packard Deluxe 8 is a full custom build that almost
defies words on how cool and unique it is. So look over everything
from the full coordinated bold colors, to the comfy A/C interior,
to the big block power, and you'll soon see a dream marching
offered at an outstanding price.
Canary Yellow is a bold color that makes an instant statement. So
if you're going to paint an entire car, it better be as cool and
slick as this one. Packard's 22nd series was already one of the
sleekest designs of the 1940s. So if you can get your hands on one
of these rare torpedo-like coupes, it makes for an awesome place to
start custom work. This was given the full custom street machine
treatment with six inches professionally chopped out of the top for
an even sportier look. Plus, you have frenched headlights, shaved
door handles & trim, sport mirrors, and a cool custom taillight
package that makes the rear end look like a spaceship. Then they
dipped the whole body in this candy-coated yellow (even the
undercarriage received the attention a while ago - so you know this
was a big money build.) And because the body is free from chrome
and trim, those 17-inch US Mags alloys really stand out, even when
tucked in under the fender skirts.
Pop the remote door openers to reveal more custom work inside. Gone
is the old interior, and in its place is a full leather seating
with comfy bucket seats up front. This does retain Packard's luxury
sensibilities, and now they have been updated for modern times. So
you have amenities like power windows, power locks, power mirrors,
and cold-blowing R134a air conditioning. The custom center console
has been updated within the last year, and it now includes a
Pioneer AM/FM/CD stereo with touchscreen interface and backup
camera. This custom was built for the driver, and so you get a
grippy sports steering wheel on a tilt column (don't you just love
how it still has the Packard emblem in the middle?) Beyond that is
a dash full of crisp VDO gauges.
This is thoroughly detailed build, and the engine bay is no
exception. The piano-style hood means there's always a good view of
the fully painted inside that includes a smooth firewall and the
full motor that matches the rest of the car. They not only took
their time painting the V8, but also making it plenty powerful.
You're looking at a big Ford 460 cubic-inch motor. It inhales
deeply with an Edelbrock four-barrel carburetor and Edelbrock
intake. Those allow it to exhale with authority from the dual
exhaust. And because this is a car you're going to want to show off
everywhere, it has the right features to be comfortable cruiser.
This includes an upgraded independent front suspension, front disc
brakes, a three-speed automatic transmission, power steering, and
modern Goodyear tires.
Complete with service manuals, this is the kind of car you see on
the cover of magazines. So to have it up for grabs at such an
obtainable price means this deal will be moving quickly. Call
