Vehicle Description
A well-chosen and tasteful array of custom exterior touches
combines with an outstanding interior and rumbling big block power
to make this 1982 Chevrolet C10 454 not only a first-degree head
turner, but also an absolute blast to drive. It's only logged a
limited number of miles since receiving its expansive powerplant
and would be equally at home making an impact on the boulevard or
on the local car show circuit.
The modifications this classic Chevy wears are visually powerful
yet subtle at the same time and afford it with outstanding curb
appeal. There's no needless flash or gaudiness anywhere to be
found, just a well-planned and meticulously configured appearance
that will readily stand out in any automotive crowd. The slightly
lowered stance is noticeable right off the bat and pairs with
sizable wheel wells both fore and aft to leave plenty of wheel
clearance for everyday driving conditions. Up front, the added
billet grille looms over a new front bumper and a largely
badge-free exterior allows its vibrant red paint to be shown off to
full effect. This is an inspired pairing of factory configuration
with just a touch of customization - in back, the chrome accent
across the liftgate is a signature feature of the Chevy trucks from
this era and in this setting it looms over a roll pan and is
bracketed by clear tail lights for a very distinctive look.
A pair of contoured custom leather bucket seats are at the center
of a comfortable and inspired leather interior. They loom over an
expanse of carpet that's in clean condition while bracketing a wide
center console that blends in perfectly and offers a pair of
cupholders that come in handy during frequent driving. A
well-padded Grant GT steering wheel now takes its place on the
column and the dash area beyond it wears a striking two tone red
and black color scheme and features a collection of original gauges
in its instrument cluster that are joined with a trio of
aftermarket displays to keep tabs on operating temperature, voltage
and oil pressure. A newly added Pioneer AM/FM/CD stereo is
positioned at the center to fill the cabin with sound via a pair of
speakers seamlessly mounted in the door panels - and a simple Freon
charge should be all that's needed to get this C10's factory air
conditioning back up to speed. The rear bed area has been coated
with protective spray in bedliner.
In addition to its outstanding visual presence, this C10 is a
rock-solid driver with seemingly boundless power. An imposing big
block - all 454 cubic inches of it - propels this classic pickup
with enthusiasm and looks sharply dressed in its black, open
element air cleaner and aftermarket pulley system. The engine has
logged a scant 1500 miles since its installation and has been armed
with both an Edelbrock intake manifold and Holley 4-barrel carb to
take full advantage of its substantial displacement. The powerplant
exhales into a pair of long tube headers that minimize back
pressure while sending a nice, deep note out of its dual exhaust.
The featured 4-speed 700r4 transmission brings good highway manners
as it drops the revs down for better mileage and longer engine
life. A set of eye-catching 20" Foose chrome wheels wrapped with
low profile tires add just the right finishing touch.
