Vehicle Description
As nice as investment grade first generation Camaros are, it seems
EVERYONE either owns one or knows someone who owns one. And as much
as we enjoy seeing blue chip F1s come through our doors, it's
always great to find a pristine classic that's built to enjoy.
Being the avid Camaro fan that you are, you probably know finding a
cool first gen isn't all that hard. But the chance of scoring a
well-done classic for less than six figures is becoming
increasingly difficult. Luckily, since the passionate gearheads at
RK Motors Charlotte specialize in F-Bodies of every flavor, we can
offer you great opportunities like this awesome 1969 Camaro Super
Sport. Featuring a stout big block, a tough Muncie 4-speed and
classic Garnet Red over White Houndstooth aesthetics, this SS is a
razor-sharp muscle car that's ready to kick your weekends off
right! If you're in the market for a classic bowtie that can be
enjoyed without fear, don't miss the chance to own this awesome
Chevy!
ISOMETRIC APPEAL
The beneficiary of a professional, frame-off restoration, this
sweet Camaro's slick, Garnet Red profile is the product of A LOT of
time spent sweating details. From its solid panels to its straight
stripes, every inch of this former stoplight king displays
craftsmanship that's nothing short of immaculate. Not surprisingly,
every one of the car's seams has been aligned to
better-than-factory fit. When you step close to its mirror-like
body, you'll find flat surfaces that are a product of years of easy
miles and generations of immaculate care. And ultimately, it all
adds up to one very well done classic that's right at home
reflecting a summertime car show!
With timeless proportions and clean detailing, Chevrolet's first
generation pony car is an inherently good-looking design. At the
front of this coupe's body, a bright silver grille hangs a bold
"SS" emblem between traditional headlights, a showroom-fresh
bumper, clear parking lamps and a stylish D80 chin spoiler. Above
that grille, a chrome-trimmed Super Sport hood rides between a
familiar "Camaro by Chevrolet" header, and like-new glass that's
framed in straight stainless and cleared by matte wipers. At the
sides of that hood, a correct mirror and traditional door handles
join a correct array of emblems familiar RS quarter louvers to add
just the right amount of detail to the car's deep red profile. And
at the back of the car, a Satin Black valence hangs segmented
taillights and a fourth "SS" emblem between a second D80 spoiler
and a second showroom-fresh bumper.
BIG BLOCK BRAVADO
If you wanted to factory-order a top-of-the-line Camaro in 1969,
you had one option: 396 cubic inches of proven Detroit iron! At the
top of this Chevy's iron big block, a correctly decaled air cleaner
funnels wind in to a big 4-barrel carburetor, which is mated to a
painted Edelbrock Performer intake. At the sides of that intake,
polished valve covers reflect fresh MSD Street Fire wires above
correct heads and fully restored exhaust manifolds. At the back of
those covers, a reproduction points distributor rides between a
rebuilt wiper motor and a fresh Delco Moraine brake booster. And,
opposite that distributor, a factory radiator sends coolant around
a shrouded fan via pliable hoses and reproduction tower clamps.
Naturally, this Chevy's impressive engine bay, framed in Satin
Black fenders and correct gray hardware, is crisp and well
detailed. And the Chevy Orange block features a typical array of
stainless lines and textured ancillary components.
LOOKS GOOD, DRIVES GOOD
The car's raucous big block slings torque through a tough Muncie
4-speed, which spins a familiar 12-bolt axle. That pumpkin pushes a
fully rebuilt suspension that's been augmented with power
rack-and-pinion steering. Stops are provided by a factory
combination of power-assisted discs and drums. Exhaust flows from
the aforementioned manifolds into stainless, true-dual pipes that
bark through an H-shaped crossover and rowdy Xlerator turbo
mufflers. And power meets the pavement through stainless-trimmed
Super Sport Wheels, which spin 215/65R15 BF Goodrich Radial T/As in
front of 235/60R15 BF Goodrich Radial T/As.
HOUNDSTOOTH BLISS
Inside this cool F1 you'll find a fully restored White Houndstooth
interior that's one of the most stylish cockpits to ever roll out
of a GM design studio! Rebuilt front bucket and rear bench seats
feel as comfortable as the day they left the showroom. In front of
those seats, a straight and crack-free dash hangs an optional
tachometer and modern Pioneer audio above deluxe wood trim. At the
center of that dash, a factory console anchors bright wood trim
around a chrome Hurst shifter and Chevrolet's well-known accessory
gauges. In front of the driver, a satin-spoked steering wheel laps
a red, white and blue horn button. And everything is framed in
tight carpet, a tight headliner and deluxe door panels.
In summary, this awesome Super Sport represents classic American
muscle at its very finest, combining stunning design with excellent
performance. Put it on the backroads... Take it to the local
cruise... Take it on the Hot Rod Power Tour... Whatever you elect
to do with this cool Camaro, it's sure to be the centerpiece of
your collection, the focal point of your garage, and, most
importantly, the car you most look forward to driving and being
seen in!
