This amazing 1937 Ford Roadster boasts a Wildrod roadster body, with a removable finished hardtop, on a professionally modified 1937 Ford boxed frame. Every item on this build was carefully planned out with purpose. Custom engineered vibration cushions between the frame and body were installed to minimize vibration and noise, which also eliminated the need for a floorboard drive shaft tunnel. By eliminating the tunnel, a lower bench seat height was achieved, creating greater visibility for the driver and passenger through the windshield. The builder also had comfort in mind when he placed all controls and vents under the dash in order to eliminate a leg space robbing console. This interior not only is spacious and comfortable, but harkens back to an old school look with a simple yet sophisticated feel. A one piece, frame rail to frame rail, plate metal floorboard was installed for additional strength, rigidity and safety. Both the passenger compartment and trunk floors have been covered in Dynamat to reduce heat and road noise. The underneath side of the front and rear wheel wells and running boards were professionally coated with a heavy duty bed liner to greatly reduce road noise and the possibility of rocks “starring” the fenders or running boards.
Hayden door hinges and plate steel were added to the suicide doors to ensure long lasting strength and alignment. The 18,000 mile powerplant is a 2009 5.3L Chevrolet LS V8 complimented with an LS2 intake. The LS engine is mated to a 4L60E automatic transmission, which transfers the power to the Ford 8.8” rear end that houses 3.27 gears. This powertrain combination creates an excellent driving experience in any environment.
While this set up produces plenty of power for fun, it is also incredibly reliable. A Mustang II front suspension setup is in place with upper and lower tubular control arms, new spindles, and power rack and pinion steering. The rear suspension features a triangulated 4-bar setup with TCI coil over shocks and springs. Power disc brakes adorn all four corners, providing maximum stopping power when needed. The gloss black exterior paint is a GM color by Dupont and looks fantastic. The tail lights are 1992 Cadillac with bright LED lights. They have been reversed and placed upside down to match the curvature of the rear fenders and the taillights chrome bezel compliments the other chrome accents on the car. The light gold vinyl interior has a sleek and sophisticated appearance. The dash features clustered white faced Classic Instrument gauges that create a condensed, yet uncluttered look. The odometer reads 400 miles, which represents the mileage put on the car since the build was complete.
