For Sale: 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle in Volo, Illinois

Vehicle Description

Only 3,820 actual miles since meticulous frame off restoration.

EXTERIOR: Fit and finish is outstanding on this car. The metal is rust free and has been prepped laser straight. 1/4 panels look to be original, bottom of doors are spotless. The gaps are as good as a new Mercedes. Even up front where the hood, fenders and headlight bezels meet fits right. The cranberry red paint has a clear coat finish and it is prepped and polished like glass. The stripes are correctly painted and are smooth to the touch. No ugly vinyl top. Every piece of chrome, stainless trim, emblem etc has been replaced. The grill, bumper guards, lenses are all new. In back it has the SS pad on the bumper and correct cowbell exhaust tips. The glass all looks new. Every weatherstrip, gasket and seal was replaced. It has very desirable cowl induction, it was recently serviced and functions. The polished Torque Thrust wheels with performance sneakers make it modern.

INTERIOR: Inside the car is completely restored like new from carpet to headliner. Has new cushions and springs in the seats. Of course all new upholstery, door panels, carpet etc. Has reproduction floor mats. The center console with the horseshoe shifter is new. The dash area is mint. Has the gauge package with tachometer and working clock. The deluxe wheel is on a tilt column. Has a retro stereo Headliner is tight as a drum. GM seat belts are excellent.

ENGINE COMPARTMENT: It certainly has a wow factor when you open the hood. Shiny gloss paint and chrome will blind you. Performance built 396 motor has a smoothed and polished aluminum intake, dual feed Holley carb, MSD ignition system and headers. The water pump, brackets, alternator, air conditioning compressor are chromed. The firewall is and under the hood is gloss red, has hood insulation. The inner fenders and front core support are gloss black. The air conditioning system has been serviced and updated with 134 freon. Has spring clamp battery cables and Delco battery topper. New wiper motor, cadmium plated brake booster. It's show quality.

TRUNK COMPARTMENT: Looks brand new inside. The bottom of the trunk lid is slick red paint with new decals, the latch is detailed. The trunk jamb is slick paint, with mint factory seams and spotwelds. Inside the trunk is perfectly clean metal with a nice coat of spatter finish paint. It has a reproduction polyglass tire on a completely restored SS wheel, new correct jack assembly.

UNDERSIDE: Has fresh rebuild on the turbo 400 with a mild shift kit. Rides on the optional F-41 sport suspension which includes sway bars and boxed control arms. Front suspension and steering is all rebuilt and detailed. Steering box was just rebuilt. Has high torque starter. Bottom of motor has chrome oil pan and flywheel cover. Trans has finned aluminum pan. The 12 bolt rear has 3.73 posi gears. Has a nice fat, ceramic coated dual exhaust with Flowmaster mufflers. Has air shocks in back. New brakes, lines, hoses and e-brake assembly. New fuel tank and sending unit. The frame and floors are so clean they were painted high gloss black. It's show quality underneath.

The poster child for an American muscle car would be the red 1970 Chevelle SS with black stripes and cowl induction. So we have here one of the nicest examples of the most popular muscle car made. It's for sale for a limited time, meaning it won't last!
