Vehicle Description
With its striking exterior color and sharp array of chrome accents,
this 1923 Ford T-Bucket is a great looking representative of one of
the most enjoyable automotive niches there is. Thoroughly
well-configured in all respects, it features quite a collection of
top quality components, including a well-dressed, strong-running
powerplant, and it sounds awesome as it revs into action.
This Ford roadster features a stout frame to support a fiberglass
body that, combined with its potent engine, equips it with that
advantageous power to weight ration so many of us strive for. The
solid underpinning on display here has served this classic well -
even though this build was completed a while back, it's holding
strong and you'll find no stress cracks to mar the appearance of
the exterior. The rich burgundy shade it wears is a definite winner
and the intricate pinstriping it's accented by needs to be seen at
close range to be fully appreciated. With its signature open air
compartment displaying a well-adorned V8, a collection of chrome
components in full view, and some sizable rubber gripping the
asphalt in back, this Ford displays all the hallmarks of quality
components combined with precise workmanship. Lantern style lights
in both front and back add yet another striking detail to its
appearance, and a slightly lower stance than what we normally see
affords a road-hugging center of gravity.
From all indications, this roadster has had the good fortune to
have been consistently sheltered during its lifetime. Its open-air
configuration and black upholstery would make it particularly prone
to the ravages of UV exposure and yet it sports an interior that's
still in solid condition. The bench seat spanning the width of the
cabin has a great looking tuck and roll texture to its cover that's
matched by the surrounding vinyl and a little farther forward, the
low profile shifter beckons you to put this classic in gear and get
down to business. The color-matched dash features a full collection
of Classic Instrument gauges whose parchment faces and suitably
antique fonts seem right at home here and all of the displays are
in good working order. In back, the filler cap sits at the center
of the vinyl clad deck lid, framed in wood that's still in solid
shape, but could use just a bit of freshening up.
This '23 features plenty of dependable, eager power in the form of
the 350 cubic inch V8 on full display in its front compartment.
It's armed with a Weiand intake manifold and Edelbrock 4-barrel
carb and an added mild performance cam combines with the long tube
headers reaching outward to side pipes to provide an awesome
exhaust sound. A Mallory Unilite distributor and Accel coil team up
to bring maximum sparking power to the cylinders, while an aluminum
radiator and electric fan are also on board to ensure operating
temperatures stay under control. A 3-speed automatic TH350
transmission and 9" rear end round out a very road ready
drivetrain. With thin 165SR15 tires up front and sizable
31X16.50R15 rubber in back, this nicely configured street machine
scorches the asphalt on moon-style chrome wheels that add just the
right finishing touch to its appearance. Below, the frame is
protected by gloss black paint for both additional eye candy and
enhanced protection from corrosive influences.
With its open-air form, precisely fitted appearance and eager,
abundant power, this 1923 Ford T-Bucket is an outstanding specimen
of its beloved automotive niche. Call today!
