1948 Chevrolet 1/2 ton pickup truck
This is as close to original as I could possibly keep it. It was being driven by an old rancher is South Texas when I saw it. He drove it occasionally into town, that was 2011. He had not renewed the license since 1997. "Don't drive it much. The sheriff knows me." Took it all apart to paint, do body work, and replace most of the glass (except the curved windows). 235 straight 6, 6 volt system (new wiring harness), original starter on floor, 4 speed transmission with floor shift. New seals around the drive shaft & rear end, new tires (in 2011) new steering wheel and gear shift knob, new tail gate, new bed in back, new tail lights & rear view mirrors plus new upholstery, new fuel tank, and gaskets around the doors, vents & windows. The color is an option in the 2014 Ford Expedition. Honey Apple Red, I think it is called. It has metallic flakes. It gets a lot of attention. I just entered it in it's first Open Car Show, and it won Best of Class! Some pretty impressive competition, so I was amazed it won. Clear title. It is fun to drive, and people always come up to me when I am at the gas pump to look at it and just visit about old cars/trucks in their past. I had it at Home Depot the other weekend, and when I came out, there were several individuals around it, and wanting to know about it.The o-meter says 66,642.
