York brings the City to a stop, Miniskirts are in fashion, Charles

University of Texas, US has nearly 500,000 troops in Vietnam,

For consignment a show car. Fully restored to all correct and
numbers matching with the pony option, this convertible is as
pristine as they get. Winning many awards, it has been garage kept,
and only driven to shows. It is a luxury version of the Mustang in
a seldom seen color combination. A consigner stated 64,380 original
miles.
Exterior
Tahoe Turquoise bathes this car, with its near perfect chrome,
brite work, and badging. It's all correct, straight steel,
consistent gaps, and paint quality is beautiful. A white canvas
convertible top, which is raised and lowered with the flick of a
switch, works flawlessly. Very nice and clean wire wheels adorn all
4 corners and have the correct 7/8-inch white sidewall tires. All
just peachy, actually Turquoise outside.
Interior
The Pony interior was offered for 65-66 Mustangs, officially known
as the Interior Decor Group Option. It featured molded panels,
pistol-grip handles, courtesy lights, walnut-grained vinyl
appliqus on the dash, more chrome, optional console and embossed
galloping Mustangs on all four seat back supports. We see all these
in here and they are all just as nicely kept as the exterior. Seats
are a two-tone turquoise and white, and white floor mats, very
clean, cover turquoise carpet, which looks showroom. Power
steering, and power brakes, and original A/C hangs from the bottom
of the dash and blows cold.
Drivetrain
A pop of the hood, and we are met with the original, restored
289ci-2V V8. This nicely painted in blue engine and valve covers
with correct blue air cleaner, which covers a 2-barrel carburetor.
Sitting in the back of this dapper mill is a C4 3-speed automatic
transmission.
Undercarriage
Amazingly everything underneath looks like new! No rust, some
repairs done, but it is very clean and structurally sound. Even the
door bottoms are rust free. We note a Ford 8" rear with 2.80 gears,
and drum brakes all around.
A stunning example, fully restored, original mile convertible that
is truly a show winner. Meticulously restored, and only driven
recently to shows, this is a turnkey car that you can drive off the
Classic Auto Mall lot and pull right into a show!
