Highlights
Just finished, this 67 442 looks and operates fabulously. A real deal and heavily documented 442 that has lots of eyeball. The previous owner had just completed a full frame-off restoration. Nice paint on smooth sheet metal with excellent panel fit and gaps all around and all new bright work, makes for a show winning car that deserves attention.
For all of us who thought we new what the early 442 meant (4 barrel, 4 speed, duel exhaust), we were wrong. Car was ordered with the super rare Dearborn 3 speed manual transmission. Dealer order sheet and original window sticker clearly show this. Don’t believe me, look it up on Internet. I have never seen another.
Details
This 442 is equipped with a rebuilt upgraded 455 NOM engine. It has flat top pistons, Edlebrock performer manifold and cam shaft, making over 450 HP. Coupled to it is the car’s original Dearborn 3 speed and a 3:55 posi trac rear end… it scoots and sounds awesome with its new Flow Master exhaust system. The engine bay, interior and trunk are NEW and in immaculate condition.
Paint is base coat/clear coat and shines like a mirror. The sheet metal is super straight and the panel gaps are excellent. The bumpers are new triple coat chrome. The window moldings are all buffed and present like new. All the weather stripping is new and fits snug. All new emblems complete this show car’s exterior.
The underside is like new, very clean and tidy….. new front disc brakes, exhaust, gas and brake lines, suspension components, sway bars, etc. The trunk is also detailed and contains a new BF Goodrich on a Rally rim with bumper jack and floor mat. The floors are rust free and appear to be the originals with no patch panels.
The interior is beautiful, with new black bench seats and the original (crack free) steering wheel. Vehicle is further equipped with a gauge option package, consisting of a fuel, oil amp and temperature gauges as well as the in dash tachometer…all of which work. Everything in the interior is new and presents exceptionally well. All the vents and heater controls work as they should as does the lights, turn signals, etc. The GM deluxe seat belts have been restored. The headliner along with the carpet and door panels, etc are new.
The car sits upon new 15” BF Goodrich T/A radials mounted to Magnum rims. The stance is correct for this muscle car. Mechanically, this vehicle is in great condition. It starts with the 1st twist of the key. The 3 speed is stirred via a (442) Hurst shifter and its acceleration is pure muscle car. The power disc brakes do their jobs as well stopping the car fast and straight.
This is a highly sought after 442 in beautiful colors and in show condition. I purchased it from the previous owner at a regional car show because I liked it that much. It has the original window sticker, bill of sale, Protecto Plate, and receipts showing the car’s payment. Restoration receipts are also included.
