1980 Fiat X 1/9
Purchased 33 years ago by this second owner, this 1980 Fiat X 1/9 has been pampered for most of it's life.
This is the newer 1500 and sports the upgraded/upsized 1.5 litre SOHC engine with the single 2 bbl carburetor putting out roughly 67 HP. In a 2000 lb car, with a 5 speed manual transmission, that means a rather sporty drive and sitting so low, in such a small car, means that it feels fast. The mid engine design gives this car handling that was praised in the media.
This particular car has just 55,000 miles on the clock and has been owned by the same person for the last 33 years. She is in nearly new condition with just a couple of minor flaws seen in the paint, some very slight fading on the rear deck lid and some seam separation on the driver's seat.
This car is also equipped with power disc brakes front and rear, no power steering (but with a car this size and the 13" wheels, turning this car even at a dead stop is no effort at all), she does have air conditioning and a removable fiberglass hard-top that stows away under the front boot. Also included is a complete and original tool kit and jack kit.
In the last several years new tires, new carb, new head gasket and timing belt have been fitted.
This car has been garaged for all of those last 33 years and totally pampered. It's hardly even been driven in the rain. Aside from regular maintenance, everything is all original, including the paint.
With two other collector cars in the fleet and less and less time to enjoy any of them, it was decided to let the least driven one go off to a new home.
This car is totally turn key and can be enjoyed immediately.
