Vehicle Description
The Camaro may have been a late entrant in the muscle car wars of
the mid to late '60s but what it lacked in punctuality it more than
made up for in visual impact, as this 1967 Chevrolet Camaro
Convertible ably illustrates. It's a great looking example of
Chevy's heralded model in its original, first generation form and
remains almost entirely in its stock configuration, with just a
couple of upgrades added to the mix to boost power and make for a
comfortable driving experience.
The deep red shade this '67 wears really accentuates its low-slung,
broad form nicely. The paint is in good shape, featuring a nice
shine and a smooth finish, with white pinstriping running over the
tops of the front fenders, doors and rear quarter panels that
retains nice, sharp edges. From front to back, the assembly of
exterior fittings is in solid shape - a little polishing here and
there will bring out its best. Should you need protection from
darkening skies, a newly added black vinyl convertible top stands
by neatly folded in back, ready to rise into position, featuring a
clear glass rear window to maximize visibility. The body alignment
on this classic is very much on point - step around to the front
and you'll not only come face to face with a fresh-looking black
grille, but from this vantage point you can see how well the front
fenders and hood blend together.
Inside the doors awaits a compelling vintage driving environment.
The interior on this vintage Chevy is looking sharp, with a pair of
low-backed front buckets and a rear bench seat at its center that
wears nicely fitted black vinyl covers showing no marked signs of
wear. They sit over an expanse of clean carpeting accented by a
pair of Camaro-branded floor mats up front. A stylish woodgrain
steering wheel is now perched on the column and the dash area
beyond it is in great shape, with a blemish free pad running across
the top and a collection of easily readable gauges in its
instrument cluster that are all fully functional. An added
aftermarket air conditioning system helps ensure comfort during
these warmer months - back in this Camaro's heyday, not all that
many droptops left the assembly line with that feature onboard and
it really does come in handy. Raise the deck lid and you'll find a
trunk area that's solid and well-prepped, with a full size spare
and tools inside - just in case the unforeseen should happen.
The drivetrain retains a period appropriate form, just a couple of
upgrades blended into the mix to increase power output with no
detriment to street manners - this Camaro is a great driver in all
respects. A very nicely detailed 283 cubic inch V8 is at the center
of the engine compartment, with its freshly painted orange surfaces
providing a sharp contrast to the chrome air cleaner. A Holley
4-barrel carb sits just below to provide just a bit of extra
muscle, while farther forward the added electric cooling fan makes
this classic well-suited to handle stop and go driving. The
powerplant pairs with a 2-speed automatic Powerglide transmission
that's shifting in top form and the engine sends a deep,
understated note out of its dual exhausts. Power steering makes for
easy navigation, while power brakes that position discs up front
bring prompt, fade resistant stops. This coveted classic cruises on
a set of clean 14" stock wheels wrapped with Goodyear tires that
still show plenty of tread. Below the undercarriage is in
outstanding condition.
