For Sale: 1955 Chevrolet Bel Air in Fredericksburg, Virginia

Vehicle Description

A Pro Street ’55 Chevy

If there was ever a car that screamed “50’s” it is the 1955 Chevrolet.  These cars helped create a new driving experience for a generation of American drivers: great styling, popular color combinations and plenty of power.  Combine that with a big horsepower engine and speed upgrades and you have our Pro Street beauty.

Great Restoration

This car is a picture-perfect restored 1955 Chevy Bel Air 2-door hardtop with a 383 Stroker engine and a Turbo 350 transmission built to handle 600hp. This is a stock Bel Air on the outside with the thrill of a killer engine under the hood.

AND, RECEIPTS, RECEIPTS, RECEIPTS:  there is a restoration book catalogued with 3" of receipts for much of the work done on and parts purchased for this Chevy.

Extremely Nice Cosmetics

  • Exterior

The car is completely refinished in Viper Red and Oxford White.  The high-quality paint work on this Chevy mirrors the level of expense and effort that went into the entire restoration.

The fit and finish of this car make clear that it was a high dollar restoration with no expense spared. The gaps are all very good, the chrome excellent and there are no signs of rust.  The jams, sills and trunk floor are clean, and the engine compartment is highly detailed.

  • Interior

A new red/white interior equipped with bucket seats, a floor-mounted Hurst shifter and a customized dash with modern instruments helps with the creature comforts as you blast away from the light.

Mechanically Awesome

This Chevy has a new 383 Stroker engine with 5327 miles on the odometer and Pro 1 Dart aluminum heads with 205 valves and a competition cam.

It has two 4bbl carburetors feeding a chromed Edelbrock intake manifold nestled in a fully detailed engine compartment.  This engine is as awsome to hear as it is to look at as it unleashes its exhaust through its Flowmasters.

The transmission is a specially-built Turbo 350 that shifts properly and is beefy enough to handle 600 hp with a 3000 stall. The shifter is a Hurst is a V-Matic2.

The car has a stainless steel gas tank from Rock Valley.

Specialty Equipment

This Chevy has a tinted front and rear windshield; a chrome tilt steering column; new front and rear chrome bumpers; a front bearing, roller conversion kit; chrome radiator cover; chrome ultra water pump; chrome valve covers; chrome master cylinder; Griffin aluminum radiator; Edelbrock Performer RPM manifold;

Equipped with front disc brakes, this Chevy is on a safety par with many newer cars. A bit more tinkering will be needed to get the wipers, turn signals and some of the gauges to function properly.

A Classic Pro Street Chevy

This 1955 Bel Air appears dead stock from the exterior except for the custom wheels/tires but the modern upgrades make it a killer at the stop lights!

  • A Stroker engine with 2 x 4 carbs
  • Beefed up transmission with Hurst shifter
  • Front disc brakes
  • 18x31x15 rear tires

This is a great car to drive, a great car to show and a great car to own.
