This dry-weather car spent most of its life in the Palm Desert valley of California before making its way over to Arizona in 2016. It has been extremely well cared for and can be seen in both the fit and finish of the car and its extensively documented service history. We even have the original window sticker for the car that shows a sales price of $54,800 all the way back in 1986! The body on the car is in pristine condition and was extremely well maintained. The car is finished in its gorgeous original Mercedes color of Light Ivory and is in awesome condition for being 23 years old. This SL is straight as an arrow and looks spectacular. Carfax shows a clean history with no reported accidents or damages. The car has been completely inspected underneath from front to back and is solid as a rock as any collector car should be. It is riding on the original 15" wheels with the correct Michelin tires that are still in good shape! The windshield is like new with no chips. The soft top has been replaced and is showing some wear from being stored in the "folded down" position for quite some time. The hard top has good seals and the headliner is in awesome shape.

The interior is in great shape all around. The door panels are in like new condition. The supple original Palomino leather seats are all in very good condition and look very nice with no rips and very minimal ware lines, which shows the quality of leather used in this car. The dash is as it came from Mercedes and has not been capped or repaired. There is a small crack coming off of one of the defroster vents where the dash meets the windshield and is hard to notice. The carpets are all very nice and are not worn or damaged. All dials and controls function as they should, power windows and antenna also are fully functional. All lights, gauges switches, and accessories work as they should. This interior is in excellent condition and really matches the quality of the rest of the car.

The trunk compartment is clean enough to eat from. The spare tire compartment is clean as a whistle and the original spare tire is present. Original jack is in place and the tool kit is even still in the original bag.

Mechanically, this SL runs GREAT! The car starts right up and shifts smooth as silk. It drives as good now as the day it rolled of the lot. The V8 engine is surprisingly quick and responsive. It is reliable, easy to fix, and parts are readily available. This car has an extensively documented service history that shows many large service items that have been addressed including: timing chain set, complete fuel system overhaul and recent AC service. The next owner should be able to enjoy this classic with very little money out of pocket down the road outside of regular maintenance. Under the hood is clean as a whistle and looks like new. I just had the oil changed and the car given a once over and its all ready to hit the road with the top dropped! I will put my personal stamp of approval on the mechanical excellence of the car.

All in all, this is one of the cleanest and well documented SL's that I have had the privilege of being associated with. I truly feel it is one of the nicest 560sl's on the market for its mileage and I will put it next to any of the lower mileage examples and it will hold its own. It has been professionally maintained and truly loved by its previous owner. This Mercedes is a fantastic car for the price and includes every option offered in this car.
