production from 1927 to 1931, following in the footsteps of the
legendary Model T, which changed the automotive industry forever.
The new and improved Model A was powered by a water-cooled 201ci
(3.3L) L-Head 4-Cylinder engine mated to a 3-speed manual gearbox.
It was available in over 30 different body styles but only four
standard colors. This late 1931 example was the final year of
production and is a 2-Door Tudor Sedan, finished in Navy Blue with
Black top. The bright Hessian Blue wheels and stripe really
brighten the outside of the car and give a nice contrast to the
lower Lombard Blue. This is one of the highest quality Model A's
we've seen. The car has always been stored in an indoor garage and
obviously has been preserved with care over the years. In late
2013 the car was repainted by a well-known local restoration and
custom shop. Earlier this year, a new battery and new tires were
installed on the car. In late 2013, the car had some engine work
done in the form of - a Burlington crankshaft, high compression
heads (5.5:1), touring camshaft, '36 Ford V8 clutch, and 354 rear
end gears. In addition, the radiator was reconditioned, a premium
water pump was installed, and an automatic timing device sourced in
Hershey PA, was installed. A jack and engine crank are also
included with the car. It starts easily, shifts smooth, and offers
a unique yet simple driving experience. The interior is simple yet
elegant for the time this car was built. All the interior
upholstery is in great condition with seats finished in brown check
cloth, and door panels finished in matching brown cloth. Tinted
glass all around, matching rear window shade, and a header clock
are other notable interior details. This is an awesome pre-war
example that is finished to an extremely high standard. This car
is worthy of any serious collector's consideration. Be sure to
