2017 Audi R8 V 10 Coupe While some production cars can match the
R8's absolute performance on track - and few can beat it - only the
elite can come close to the R8's civility while retaining that raw,
race-bred edge. Nelson Ireson (Automobile Magazine 2017 Audi R8
Review) The 2017 edition of Audi's standout mid-engine Quattro
sports car, the R8, took the already highly acclaimed model to new
heights with a complete re-design. The car was more comfortable,
better looking-inside and out-and not least of all, quicker,
faster, and more responsive. New interior amenities included Audi's
virtual cockpit, Audi Connect, and a 13-speaker, 550-watt Bang &
Olufsen entertainment system. € Top speed for the 540-horsepower
V10 engine (shared with the Lamborghini Huracan) married to a
7-speed S-tronic transmission was pegged at 199 mph. Chassis
improvements included a new lightweight carbon-fiber space frame
(also shared with the Huracan) and MagneRide shock-absorber
suspension, as well as the Audi Drive Select feature to adjust
handling to the driver's choice for comfort, sport, or different
weather or road-surface conditions. Motor Trend's review of the car
summed up its handling: The Audi is beyond quick with catlike
reflexes, sharp, crisp steering, and brakes for days. The R8 V 10
offered here is a stunning example. Originally delivered by Audi
Salt Lake City, the car has traveled a mere 3,800 miles since
initial-customer delivery in June of 2016. That's only about 100
miles per month! The Suzuka Gray Metallic exterior paint is a color
venerated by many serious Audi fans who feel it shows off the car's
lines perfectly; a blend of subtle-yet-unusual coloring. On this
car it has been treated with Ceramic Pro 9H protection. The
optional carbon-fiber exterior trim adds both visual interest and
character. And for a touch of mystery, the Audi trademark rings are
projected on the ground when the doors are opened at night. The
car's Brixton forged lightweight wheels in dark-gunmetal gray were
custom-crafted for this particular R8, and no other. And the V12
engine is displayed in the optional carbon-fiber-trimmed
compartment beneath the glass hatch, like the piece of automotive
artwork it is. The car is optioned with Audi's dynamic steering
which varies the steering ratio by nearly 100 percent as a function
of driving speed and the selected drive-setting. Transitions are
continuous and practically imperceptible. Also optional are the red
brake calipers. Inside, the customization continues with
diamond-stitching in electric-red on the black leather sport seats
as well as the full headliner and other leather cabin surfaces. The
interior carbon-fiber package incorporates the lightweight trim
throughout the cabin, and combined with its use in the engine
compartment and on the car's flanks, makes for a coordinated,
techno-look.Overall, it's evident the car's option selections
were specified with an eye toward crafting a unique R8. € The car
has recently received a comprehensive service by the Grand Rapids
Audi dealer and, in virtually all respects, presents as a new car.
The Audi Care maintenance warranty purchased by the original owner
remains in force through June, 2020, or 50,000 miles; together with
the factory's basic and powertrain warranties for the same period.
Owner's manuals and related literature, together with the original
window sticker, are included. Audi's R8 has been
