Vehicle Description
Though the first-generation Mustang kept the same general design
for many years, each year received slight updates gradually
creating a more and more aggressive look. The 1967 Mustang is
undoubtedly the first year that these changes start to become very
apparent, and boy do these '67s look nice! They aren't quite as
aggressive-looking as a 1969 but aren't as tame in appearance as
1965 either. This particular 1967 Mustang convertible is a rare
bird, being that it is a factory GTA Mustang complete with a full
Marti report verifying it as a true one-of-one car.
Believe it or not, this Mustang has never been restored! Though it
has received a repaint and new convertible top, as age would
dictate, this vehicle has never seen a full restoration and is in
largely original condition. Both the top and paint show some aging,
but are in good condition and ready to be enjoyed. While restored
cars are as wonderful as they come, there's just a different
feeling behind the wheel of an original car that has been
maintained rather than battered and brought back to life. The
exterior of this Mustang is clean and straight, with no obvious
questionable repairs or damage. It appears to be all original sheet
metal, which eliminates the sneaky nature of poorly performed patch
panels. It would be quite a challenge to find a Mustang this solid
with original metal, let alone a convertible still wearing its
original floorpans! This car is as solid as they come, and an
excellent piece for a Mustang collector looking for something both
affordable and extremely unique.
You read it correctly above; this Mustang is a Marti verified
one-of-one optioned vehicle. While it comes down to some very
specific options that make it so, there was no other Mustang GTA
convertible produced with the same colors and options as this car.
The interior appears all original and unmolested aside from
replacement carpet; another item that was replaced due to age and
wear rather than the sake of restoration. The seats appear to have
never been recovered, which really adds to the originality of this
specimen. Overall, the interior is in excellent condition for an
unrestored car and is more than nice enough to be enjoyed as-is.
While some areas may be showing some age, that is exactly what can
be expected in a well-preserved original car.
This Mustang still has what is believed to be all of its original
drivetrain, including the Ford 289 V8 under the hood. It runs just
as it should, with no hesitation, smoke, or odd noises. Hooked up
to the 289 is a Ford C4 3-speed automatic transmission; hence the
'A' in GT A. This car drives exactly how an unmodified 1967 Mustang
should drive, and again it just has a different feel than restored
cars do. It is a pleasure to cruise this car with the top down!
Given the overall originality combined with the impressive Marti
report, this Mustang GT A is a collector's item without a doubt.
Whether you've been searching for one for years, or you're just
after something a little more unique to add to you collection, this
Mustang is the one to have! This is a turn-key survivor that needs
nothing but a new home. Add it to your fleet today!
