Vehicle Description
Harboring some serious power underneath its hood and fresh from a
thorough frame off restoration, this 1985 Jeep CJ7 Laredo is one
sharp looking, surefooted ride. It's emerged with its factory
configuration still very much intact, but made all the more
impressive by the addition of some well-chosen aesthetic
upgrades.
While previous iterations of the Jeep had ventured over to the
civilian sector, the CJ7 took things to a new level. It was the
first model to be intentionally equipped for that purpose - its
wheelbase is much longer than its immediate predecessor and its
side openings were squared off to accommodate hinged doors. Those
refinements came with no compromise to its rugged sensibility,
however. A glance at this CJ7 will convince you that, while it's
undeniably well-turned out, that ruggedness factor is still in full
effect. Its refreshed burgundy exterior, ornamented with gray
stripes and razor-sharp Laredo lettering on the hood for just the
right period-correct look, is in great shape. Despite the
temptation it presents for inspired off roading, you can see this
workhorse has been treated with respect - you won't find any of the
scuffs or other badges of honor from rugged terrain anywhere. Up
front, the KC fog lights perched just below a very clean chrome
grille stand ready to light the path ahead while providing a strong
first impression as the car pulls up. Come around to the side and
you'll appreciate the sizable tires this Jeep is wearing to
vanquish any obstacles that may be in its path.
Inside, the Graphite Gray interior has been spruced up by a number
of recently added components, including a pair of Corbeau buckets
sitting above all weather floor mats and a matching rear bench seat
that both appear so new they haven't yet had the opportunity to
develop any signs of wear. Between the buckets is a substantially
sized lockable console - Jeeps spend a lot of time in their
open-air configuration, so having secure storage space is a big
plus. The dash area, accented by a chrome glove box and matching
instrument panel bearing crystal clear, functional gauges, is in
showroom condition and there's an AM/FM stereo with iPod
connectivity at its center to tend to your audio needs.
You'll have ample power on hand for asphalt and dirt alike in the
form of a 360 cubic inch V8 eagerly standing by under the hood. It
boasts displacement that substantially exceeds any of the engine
offerings when this '85 rolled out and its power game has been
further elevated with the addition of a pair of aftermarket
Edelbrock heads and a D.U.I. performance distributor. The
powerplant is fed by an FI Tech fuel injection system, so you'll
have the benefit of easy all-weather starts and adjustability that
would be out of reach in original configuration. Recessed between
color-matched inner fenders, the V8 wears an array of chrome
components, sits right by a chromed power booster and master
cylinder for added eye candy and sounds great as it vocalizes into
the headers leading out to its side pipes. The accompanying 3-speed
automatic transmission is shifting smoothly and features sizable
35" BF Goodrich Mud-Terrain T/A tires for outstanding off-road
agility. Power steering makes this mountain goat easy to navigate
while power brakes that include discs up front bring prompt,
fade-resistant stops.
Well-equipped and positioned for plenty more fun-filled future
miles, this 1985 Jeep CJ7 Laredo is a "must see" for any off-road
enthusiast. Call today!
